War in Ukraine

Ok. It's nothing to be happy about that the facility was bombed, right?

No need to acknowledge Trump is in over his head as to his capabilities to negotiate with Russia, OR unwillingness. It's actually quite sad. Regardless of his ineffectiveness as a negotiator, we still need him to dig down and help get this settled
See my post above as it relates to this facility being bombed. Wrt Trump’s meetings with Putin, anyone that understands Putin’s world view and goals knows that once Russia was in Crimea, and now more of eastern Ukraine, he’s not leaving unless it’s through violent means. He gladly played the ole Ali vs Foreman “rope a dope” in these few summits with Trump. Putin enjoys the photo op and sending Trump home empty handed. I don’t blame Trump for making the effort, though. He just needs to understand Putin pays lip service and then does whatever he wants to do.

it was probably one of LSU's lies you read. he has a tendency to just make stuff up to fit his argument.

No, it was someone responded to hog. I think I know who it was and it wasn't you. They were saying Trump and NATO should go ahead and accept Ukraine into NATO and threaten to issue Article 9 if Russia doesn't stop attacking. I am pretty sure that would cause Nuclear War.

Sorry for listing you again.

Monty.

Next, "just give Ukrainians nuclear weapons" . I have to admit that would probably solve the whole conflict though, none of us would have to worry about talking all this anymore.

What am I lying about, I would say I 95% of what I provide is obvious observation. Most of the outlandish stuff/predictions that ends up on the cutting floor have very little to do with me. I said 3 years ago, this is a real war and depending on how it plays out it could take Russia 20 years to flatten the place, I think about a year ago I said I was probably on the high end and 10 years might be possible. Of course, I think if I am wrong its that I am on the high side.

A real war, real death, and real consequences.

To be honest, I have no idea why this thread is even at 3500 pages, not much has changed in 3 years and nobody really discusses smaller troop movements or strategy.

man you are just straight up lying about this.

nowhere in the resolution does it speak anywhere towards to who is responsible, yet alone passing some judgement saying that Russia is not responsible.

go dig up posts of me in other threads. you will see me calling out our military involvement as bad.

I have repeatedly said in this thread we shouldn't be involved in Ukraine. you just have to lie about me to have any argument, because all you know is canned responses. you have repeatedly shown the inability of engaging in any critical thinking, relying on making stuff up so you can joust with windmills.
go back to those two and see what I was responding to.

Those are two examples, from only the last week, and are only what I actually responded to. there may have been others in that time frame. and there are certainly more examples from more than a week ago.

you lie pretty consistently about what I actually say, and you lie about what actually goes on. you have a habit of making up arguments that no one makes so that you can go on to claim victory without addressing anything actually said in the quote.

If I got your comments confused or with someone else's comments, I apologize. I'm not reading all that again though.

Continue on.

Putin’s goal, imo, is to get away with what he can until someone stops him. I don’t think he anticipated how difficult Ukraine was going to make this…which probably blunts any other immediate ambitions.
I think he was being patient and strategic in his plan. He wasn't trying to destroy the country

Maybe, but I don’t think he was anticipating a virtual stalemate. “Three week special military operation” were his words. Clearly he miscalculated, intentions or not.

So is Putin's goal to completely take over ukraine?

Nobody wants the rest of the Ukraine which is the problem. The have negative value minus being used as a pawn. The Russians will have to find a solution as well to a degree, or the only solution remaining will be to push all those people into Poland - which is a huge effort before them. I'm probably going to sign off for a bit on this, there really hasn't been much to talk about for 3 years. The neocons set this up very well, which is what I said 3 years ago.

Firing long range missiles into Russia is stupid. You rely on Putin having more sense than you to underwrite your “tough” talk.

With Putin striking Ukraine every day, Trump, Hegseth, and Eldridge Colby tied Ukraine's hands and helped Russia by stopping aukreine from striking back.

Disgraceful.
Ukraine can always just tell us to pound sand and fire whatever they want.

Unless Zelenskyy is more Trump’s biotch than Trump is Putin’s.

It is not, and should not be, our war.
