Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Anyone bought a ceiling fan lately? Them things have gone through the roof, I haven't had to purchase a ceiling fan since 2020 when we remodeled but the new house has a 20' tall vaulted ceiling in the great room so an 84" fan would fit perfectly. Thinking I might just have to go buy a box fan and hang it from a rope.
Buy two fans. That’s what we did. Have you looked at Big Ass Fans? That’s a company.

We'll have fans in all the bedrooms, great room and bonus room. Staying old school.....
Yeah I like ceiling fans too. Single fans in all bedrooms and double fans in family room, den/media room, patio, and outdoor living area.

If you want correct speed control at the wall switch you gotta buy a different walk switch unit design for two fans. Which we did.

Having them synchronized isn't important to me.

That isn’t the issue. You won’t get the right speed they run too slow. Has to do with the run capacitor value in the switch. Mine aren’t synchronized but they run at pretty much the same speed.

If that isn’t an issue then use the fan switch to control speed. In our house that’s a problem on the 18’ ceiling though in that pic.
