Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Discussion, debate, and argument is a common trait of the VN PF. Some of our posters are very argumentative. Most of us have pet issues that we argue about. Very few of us are chronically passive. This brings a question to mind.

What is the most argumentative thread in our forum?

I'll start. Right now it has to be the Israel / Palestine thread. The people there love to argue just for the sake of argument.

You suck!

LOL.

As I typed the post, I knew someone would come along to argue. Well done. You saw your shot and you took it.

Have a cookie.

it is nauseating. same thing over and over.

Yeah, much as I love the PF...my life is better since I quit arguing with strangers here. There are a few posters I just don't even engage because we agree about pretty much nothing and arguing with them is a waste of time. I prefer to just lurk and then give yall a shout here and there. If I allowed it to, there are posters here that would make me angry with their hate for the Jews and stuff. Just not worth it...if I ever feel like arguing my wife is more than capable of scratching that itch.

Oooh pet peeve: when something itches...you scratch it. You don't "itch" an itch. You scratch an itch. I am sure one of you heathens will disagree though. As is customary and expected.

Anyone bought a ceiling fan lately? Them things have gone through the roof, I haven't had to purchase a ceiling fan since 2020 when we remodeled but the new house has a 20' tall vaulted ceiling in the great room so an 84" fan would fit perfectly. Thinking I might just have to go buy a box fan and hang it from a rope.

I've bought a few. Walmart cheapies are my go to. Once mounted, most people do not pay close attention to a ceiling fan. McMom doesn't agree those "match" our home though so I am prohibited from installing in our residence.

Yeah, the Mrs has outright rejected my ceiling fan suggestions for HER new house. Something along the lines of "We're not putting that cheap redneck looking crap in a brand new house"

Yep. That's how it goes.

Maybe Hogette should know new construction is leaning away from ceiling fans. The new construction I have put eyes on does not have a central light fixture in the rooms and no ceiling fans installed at all.
