Again, you're proving my point exactly about his control over communications. Whether he said it or not, you had JD Vance talking about it during the campaign (off the top of my head) and Trump not working to walk it back. He knew what his people was saying and let it continue- and if he didn't, he demonstrated no control. "Brand" is what people think about you while you're not present, and clearly more than a fraction of his voters believed that was part of his messaging and brand, which he did not address. That's tacit approval.

And beyond that, what did he say about this stuff before his campaign officially began?

Getting into when he actually took office, he had is AG coming out and saying there was a list. He had multiple members of his security/policing arms talking about lists. He had people around his White House talking about it. And what does he do now? Calls people idiots for believing it existed.

Once again, at the very best, Trump has no control over his own people and his own message. The same question as the admin before needs to be asked- who is actually running things?

What of this have they done? They haven't released anything that the Biden administration didn't already release.

It's a far stretch leaping to the conclusion that there was nothing going on, which is what he and his administration are explicitly telling us now- "The Epstein Hoax".

You can twist and turn all you want. This is an outright failure for Trump. He's not a god, so he will fail at things like everyone else.

He talked about it a lot. Whenever Trump was asked if he would release the Epstein files, or an Epstein client list, this was typical of what we got :

Trump did not just in the last few days call the Epstein issue a hoax, he's been calling in phony for awhile. Like he said, you cannot release what is a fake list and damage innocent people. He would release what he thinks is feasible to release.

Discretionary will be roughly the same. Any entitlement savings from OBBB will be largely offset by normal cost inflation...

Most recent revenue is slightly over 5T and deficit of just under 2T...

LOL. That is historical revisionism. Trump wasn't calling it "phony" or a "hoax' during the 2024 Campaign, when he was asked if he would release the Epstein files/client list and he said that he would.

.... and Trump never mentioned that Obama, Comey and Biden had made things up in those files until after the DOJ memo was released and a controversy erupted. That ridiculous accusation is an obvious lie, which was in response to the pushback Trump was getting from Republicans for not releasing the Epstein files.

Again, Trump knew things in the Epstein file were phony. A list may not even exist and if I'd does it is most likely phony. So you want a phony list with innocent people's name on it?

The link you posted goes on to say "Rumors about a list of Epstein's "clients" have circulated online for years, though there is no evidence such a document exists."

Thought experiment: Consider the following....

I'm going to come to your home town with my retired DOJ ID, and bring along a retired FBI friend of mine.

We are going to go to the principal and teachers at the school where your kids attend, and we are going to tell them that you are a pedophile. We can't tell them how we know, but we just want them to know what we know about you.

Then we're going to attend a Sunday service at the church you attend, and share the same information with the parishioners who are your friends and neighbors.

Then we're going to attend a morning meeting of the Optimist Club where you are a member and repeat what we know about you, and just assure them that the information is in government records they can't see, but it is there.

Then we'll go to go the VP of personnel of the company where you are a senior manager and supervise close to 100 people. They will learn the same information.

Then I'm going to leave town and never return.

You can then go about trying to repair your reputation in the community.

That's what innocent people whose names are contained in the "Epstein Files" would face if they were just opened up to public scrutiny.

Regarding #2, the comparison is 100% apt. Trump has zero control of communications coming out of his administration and I'd argue he himself is not making many decisions at all. We saw it with DOGE falsifications and lack of oversight, we see it now with half his people saying one thing and half another before backtracking and waffling about. This administration is not living up to what it promised.

We will agree to disagree on the communications. I think he over communicates And I think between him and Susie Wiles, they have pretty good control on what is said. Any administration has some miscues, Joe and company was hourly.

Trump never said that anything was phony about the Epstein files during the campaign, and he never made the accusation that Obama, Comey and Biden had tampered with the Epstein files until after the DOJ memo was made public.

It is ridiculous for you to say that anything in the Epstein files is most likely phony. That could not be based on anything but pro-Trump spin.

Trump did not just in the last few days start calling it a hoax. During the campaign, from the video I posted earlier, he thought it was phony.

What if Trump knew nothing about the Epstein list. He gets elected President, he sees the files and cannot certify if the list is even genuine or if it has been tampered with over the years. The list contain names of people who have done nothing wrong. There is no way to prove any name on the list is guilty of anything. Would you release the list anyway if you were Trump????? Are you ready to spend years in court over all the defamation cases when you get sued???
