President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

You're far more financially saavy than the average American.

True. But Im for more choice here. Clearly dont auto-enroll people in it. Anything that will get people demanding more from their 401k is better.

Usually in many companies, the group administering benefits (HR) is the worst group with money. Its why 401k returns almost always underperform the market...

That poll being referenced was only taken of Republicans. So, what is the "can't beat Trump" line about? That poll had nothing to do with independents, which is the true test of a President's approval. You do not need to remind me that Republicans will stick with Trump, regardless of what happens. The January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol proved that. That is how a cult operates. The support and defense are unconditional. However, it is mostly Trump's base creating a stir about Trump's broken promise of transparency over the Epstein files; not Democrats.

.... and since you brought up RCP. Here is what the polling averages say, that don't just include Republican voters :

As for your "Reminder: this is a CNN survey!!"

I take that to mean that you consider CNN to be a good pollster then?

That's great! Take a look at the very first poll on Real Clear Polling's list of current polling data. It just happens to be CNN, and it says this, when more than just Republican Party voters are included :

CNN

President Donald Trump - Job Approval Rating

APPROVE ................ 44%
DISAPPROVE .......... 56%
There have been some so called MAGA supporters attacking Trump on social media trying to turn others away from Trump. From the poll you can see that Reps are sticking with Trump and not listening to these money grubbing 'influencers". The Dems hate Trump, that's a given, but the poll was to see if the typical MAGA Rep was abandoning Trump.......and they are not.

Trump's reaction to Republican calls for releasing the Epstein files in full is only fueling the story along, and the depth of his anger is hard to understand, unless he is named somewhere in the files.

Also, Trump continues to claim, without proof or explanation, that Obama, Comey and Biden "made up" the Epstein files. That is even more bizarre, since it isn't something he had ever mentioned before the DOJ memo was released and a controversy arose over a lack of transparency. Trump also won't explain what he means when he calls this the Epstein "hoax." He even pretends now that he didn't pledge to release an Epstein client list during the 2024 Presidential Election Campaign .... even though he can be seen on video doing just that throughout 2024, at several different campaign rallies.

That's fine .... but it's not Democrats who are making a big deal out of Trump's stonewalling on releasing the Epstein files. It's his base and fellow Republicans who have given this story legs. Even Laura Ingraham of Fox News has been critical of Trump over this, and that is very unusual.

I love when people bring up the June surplus. The only reason why we had a 27 billion dollar surplus was 97 billion of June payments had to be made on May 30 (since June 1 fell on a weekend)
I'd almost rather have complete idiots in government, because they'll do stuff wrong but are too stupid to hide it.

The problem when you end up with the selfish and entirely evil types that are apparently running things now is that they know how to outrun way more people (but not everybody).

This administration has stunk since it got in. And we're only in the sixth month...

Some Reps are not happy about Epstein issue but it is not high on their priority list.... if on their list at all. From that video, just 1 Rep said Epstein was the number 1 issue. Ingraham maybe critical of Trump on the issue but she still supports Trump. Who is going to be foolish to let one issue tear apart all the good Trump has done and will do? I have no problems with how Trump has handled the issue. Trump has access to information all the rest of do not and I trust that he will handle the best way he see fit.

If a real Epstein list exist, it cannot simply be released because there maybe names on it of people who did nothing wrong at all. Just a name on a list does not make one guilty......

The fact that an E. Jean Carroll case can happen is Trump's first hand experience that informs him to not allow a bunch of wild claims to fly in the court of public opinion against individuals who were in Jeffrey Epstein's orbit but who had no involvement in his criminal activity.

Two options:

1. There are a lot of guilty people and Trump has become the most recent POTUS to fall in line and keep it covered up (along with every DOJ/FBI official involved in the investigation going back 2 decades), or

2. A lot of names would surface about whom the investigation has shown they had nothing to do with Epstein's crimes but their lives would be blown up by baseless innuendo and speculation.

Which is more plausible for a POTUS who suffered through the Carroll case?

You are in charge of the US government.

You have a "list" of names.

The "list" is of uncertain provenance and may in fact be a fabrication created by your enemies.

The "list" suggests that certain influential Americans and international world leaders were engaged in the most heinous crimes imaginable.

However, despite the existence of the "list," there is zero evidence to support any grand jury indictments.

You are a rational, logical person and are not controlled by emotion.

Hundreds of rabid paid "influencers" on X are demanding the public release of the "list."

Publicly releasing the "list" will wreck the reputations of many powerful people (without any evidence of any crimes) and leave open the specter of substantial defamation claims.

What do you do?

I probably start by not making it a key element of my campaign, for one. And I then probably don't bungle 100% of the communication around it then call people stupid that listened to what I myself said a mere few months back.

At the very least, Trump is demonstrating a total lack of control in his own administration, which is exactly what we were getting with autopen Joe. Great work, everyone!

What do you do if you make a commitment and then find out the information is loaded with “red pills”.

You comparison of Trumps control of his administration vs “Pen Man” does not make sense.

Then Trump shouldn't have made such promises during the 2024 Presidential Election Campaign. Make no mistake that this is a controversy of his own making. Democrats and the media didn't create this story. Trump created it.

Be honest and not immediately get ratio'd on my own social media platform because the best I could come up with is blaming Obama and Bill Clinton (?) while calling my own supporters idiots, to start.

Regarding #2, the comparison is 100% apt. Trump has zero control of communications coming out of his administration and I'd argue he himself is not making many decisions at all. We saw it with DOGE falsifications and lack of oversight, we see it now with half his people saying one thing and half another before backtracking and waffling about. This administration is not living up to what it promised.

Trump did not making releasing an Epstein list an agenda point, but he would have it looked into and release what could be released.

Epstein was not on his agenda 47:

beginning at 10 second mark. Trump has called the Epstein stuff phony for awhile.

Trump is casting himself as a victim over this. He is not a victim. He created this story .... and he is keeping it alive with his anger and ridiculous claims on social media.

Donald Trump frequently mentioned the Epstein files at his 2024 Presidential Election Campaign rallies. Trump stoked his base's anticipation over their release. Now, however, Trump is mad because his base actually wants him to follow through. That is ridiculous. Donald Trump is not a victim here, as he wants everyone to think. He is completely responsible for this becoming a controversy.
