to me a vacation is more than just being away from the job but getting away from other people and I have never liked the idea of a vacation being where I am herded onto a boat, floating in the middle of the ocean with 1000's of other obnoxious people....prove me wrong.

You probably wouldn't like cruising. But you have some assumptions that aren't accurate.

there aren't 1000s of obnoxious people. There are some. But the vast majority are in good moods because they are having fun. I like the boat during port days. most people go do an excursion and the boat only has a small fraction of passengers. Even during the busy times, I can always manage to find a quiet spot away from others.

That would be me too. I've never been on a cruise but the whole excursion thing doesn't appeal to me at all. Boat, food, drinks, and whoever I go with. I hate going through tourist traps where you're getting swamped with people trying to sell you stuff.

Same here. Stay on the boat and have the run of it during port days unless it’s somewhere we’ve never been.

They’re all pretty awful around the ports. Only exception is if you take a left at Nassau instead of a right. Then it’s just a lot more expensive.

If his SAT score actually was 2100+ out of a possible 2400...then yes. He scored higher than anyone who posts here. Should someone claim to have a higher score on the actual SAT...not the PSAT...please show your official scores here. I will buy you a beer or 3.

I actually scored only a 1260 back when the perfect score was 1600...before they dumbed down the test...I was in 10th grade. In 6th grade however, i broke 1000 with almost 1100 out of 1600 and was 1 of 1000 kids ages 11 and 12 selected to attend the awards ceremony at Duke University in their Talent Identification Program or TIP. I am pretty sure that Program still exists today. My son who was HS valedictorian never took the TIP contest SAT likely because his Christian school didn't participate. Like me, both of my kids participated in the Scripps Howard sanctioned spelling bees and none of us ever lost at the school level in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. We were all eliminated at the county level though...so never made it to state or the televised national bees. I was also on the math team until I got older and came up against kids from the NCSSM. Those kids were taking college level classes in math theory, probability and statistics, theoretical physics etc as 8th graders. They were almost entirely Indian with a few Asians mixed in. Lots of eyeglasses and comic books...almost zero deodorant.

Regardless i am just a self educated dropout with a GED. I will put my kids and I up against most folks out there. While society has gotten dumber, fatter, lazier,and more ignorant....we have beem building generational wealth in my family .
Not much in gold and treasure...but rich with knowledge, Faith, diligence, self respect
