That's a good point, and that article addressed it.Hard to proclaim they’re wrong though when one of there reasons the predictions have yet to realize is that Trump continually changes the terms such as his numerous exemptions.
If I were trying to access the impact of tariffs I wouldn’t even know what date to start because he announces, delays, exempts, it’s been all over the map
We've brought in billions in tariffs this year. It's amazing that us consumers didn't have to pay itHard to proclaim they’re wrong though when one of there reasons the predictions have yet to realize is that Trump continually changes the terms such as his numerous exemptions.

The United States has generated $97.3 billion this year from tariffs as of July 1, the latest data available — 109.5% more than the same time last year.
That tariff windfall isn't being paid by foreign governments though, as Trump will often claim. For now, the tariffs are mostly being paid by American importers of raw materials .... and eventually, they will be built into the price that everybody is paying for goods. He is almost daily. I'm glad that you are so much more objective. If that's your attitude? Fine ..... just be consistent about it, and don't start crying when Donald Trump gets attacked and directly blamed for the natural disasters which occur while he is in office. You can't have it both ways. If it's wrong for one party to politicize a natural disaster? Then it is wrong for both to do it.
.... and everyone knows you will start crying every time Trump is blamed. Your positions are completely grounded in political tribalism.
We’ve been hearing this for 6 months. It hasn’t happened yet. I’m not convinced it’ll get passed on to consumers in many instances. The capitalistic principle of supply and demand still holds. For example if Walmart raises their prices, I’ll shop at Target and Meijer insteadThat tariff windfall isn't being paid by foreign governments though, as Trump will often claim. Might also lead to town grocery stores supplied by locals kinda like farmer markets..I spend more money at local markets then I donated big box grocery..it cheaper, better and less foodWe’ve been hearing this for 6 months. Because Target doesn't use importers? To say that you are over-simplifying the matter is an understatement. Tariff costs will be passed on to the consumer eventually. We’ve been hearing this for 6 months. It hasn’t happened yet. I’m not convinced it’ll get passed on to consumers in many instances. Tariffs ASSUME the consumer is gong to continue to purchase the imported (tariffed) product. What if the consumer changes and purchases a product that is higher quality and has the same or less price (American made)?
Who pays for the tariffs then?
It's a little shocking to see him struggle so badly with this idea. If the means of doing X are "here" at this point and intended to be "there" later if something happens now is the argument you do nothing with the resources because they aren't set up "there" yet?Or give the states time to get set up to do without FEMA and congress to properly disband it.
And to add to that, what if Apple is forced to move their factories from China to a different country altogether that doesn't have the tariff burden? I think that's the point of all this to begin with. Get American companies out of China.Tariffs ASSUME the consumer is gong to continue to purchase the imported (tariffed) product.
