Iran

Their neighbors? Or do you mean the puppet regimes we control? If you did a poll of CITIZENS of said Middle Eastern countries, do you think they would support or be against Iran getting nukes?

You might not be aware of the pulse in the Middle East but most people in that region hate their governments. The governments are mostly controlled by a few oligarchs that we prop up to do our bidding. Iran is our enemy because they're the only country in the region we don't control.

I promise most of the people in the Middle East would be happy to see the only country in the region not totally under the influence or control of America and Israel getting a nuke.

Pretty much everything in this post is highly inaccurate and incorrect.

The average Middle Eastern citizen was cheering for Iran in this recent war not Israel or us. You're delusional if you think the average Muslim is cheering for Israel or the United States in a war with Iran over nuclear capabilities.

You're insane, most of those people in those countries know what happens, they aren't uneducated. They know what happens in an arm race in the region with different factions with centuries old axes to grind.

So when we use nukes it brings the war to a quick end but if Japan were to drop 2 nukes on us we wouldn't have quit but kept fighting? LOL.
Had we been in the position Japan was in, perhaps. They were backed up to their border by the US having fought them through the Pacific.

You're ignoring the entire rest of the Pacific War which had been bloody and hard for both sides but we were slowly backing Japan up to the point where they had nowhere to go.

They were willing to fight for their Emperor until nearly the last man and it would have been awful for them and awful us. With the bomb, it was horrible for them and better for us.

I get that you don't like it. I don't LIKE that all those people died in 2 bombs but I understand it. We shortened the war we were about to win and saved a lot of American lives.

There's a difference between what's ideal and what we should be willing to go to war over. I wish nobody in the Middle East had nukes. Nor am I rooting for Iran to get nukes now. My argument is why are we willing to go to war to keep them from getting one? I simply don't think it's worth the loss of American lives to keep a nation from developing weapons others have already developed and nobody invaded or attacked them.

Once again the only reason there is a drum beat for war with Iran to keep them from getting nukes is bigotry against Muslims. This is about their religion and the hatred many on the right have for Islam than anything else.
We aren't at war anymore than we were when Obama or Biden or Clinton used precision strikes,

No American lives have been lost though, you're making scenarios up that don't exist.

Once again this isn't about them being brown. You can repeat it over and over again and it doesn't make it true. This is about stopping an arms race in the region that puts us more than ever in the brink of MAD. This isn't about religion any more than race, we are existing with their neighbors just fine.

And you can miss us all with talk about puppet regimes......... Because not even a few weeks ago it was all about America being the puppet. I'm getting dizzy trying to follow your narrative.

TDS is a real thing both ways, people either defend everything Trump does or hate everything Trump does, there is no middle ground.
Meh, the butt kissing of the people around him and grandstanding get old to me. But he is exponentially better than what we had in Biden. He does what he says or at least attempts to. Accomplished a lot in a very short period despite a lot of bs from the other side.

We didn’t go to war. No one is beating a war drum. You’re fighting strawmen

I thought Muslims were crazy religious fanatics? You're telling me they don't want the only fundamentalist country in the region getting nukes to rival Israel?

Lulz.

It has nothing to do with liking or disliking the bombing. I just dislike hypocrisy. People just love operating in double standards when it benefits them. We're the only country to ever use nukes yet we are the ones saying who can't get nukes cause they might use it.

I'm not saying America is inherently worse than anybody else. But I'm also not saying we're inherently better than anybody else either. The problem is most people think their country's ish don't stink but everyone else's does. That's all I'm arguing against.

I was arguing in this thread on the idea that this conflict would continue to escalate. Thankfully it seems like cooler heads prevailed. If Iran continues trying to get a nuke and air strikes don't work will you agree with me that under no circumstances should we ever get involved in a ground war in Iran? Cause while I don't like air strikes a full-on ground war should be unacceptable to any rational American.

Yet.

My worry remains that Trump will not be able to stand it if it becomes apparent in 6 months that Iran is on the verge of becoming a nuclear power, and that he will be blamed for it.

Talk about a guy that will surrender thousands of lives to salve his own ego. Trump is it.
