My Mormon friend was adamant, no caffeine or any drugs, including coke. Those who drink coke are the rebels pushing the envelope. They don't do any drugs at all, and caffeine is a drug. Coke didn't exist when the prohibition on coffee and tea (previously the only sources of caffeine) were prohibited, so the coke drinkers are using technicalities to violate the spirit of the law.As I understand they can have sodas, including coke. That its not the caffeine but the tannins in coffee and tea that they decided was damaging to the body.
Mormons got the okay to drink soft drinks once the Mormon Church made a huge investment in Coca Cola stock a few decades ago (early to mid-90's?).My Mormon friend was adamant, no caffeine or any drugs, including coke. But like any religion, there are sects and divisions of belief within it. Lots of Christians think alcohol is a sin, others drink every day.
We all have two copies (alleles) of the ApoE gene. The most common alleles are E2, E3, and E4. If you have two copies of E3 (the most common in the US) you have a 9% lifetime risk. If you have one copy of E4 you have a 20-30% lifetime risk...double to triple that of the general population. Not sure I'd consider that a slight increase.23andme says I have one copy of the APOE gene (of 4 tested). Slight increase in risk of developing late-onset Alzheimers

I'm highly suspect of the restrictions placed on 'the flock' by different religious groups. Thus, I will continue to drink beer and soda (shivers). I will also only keep '1 wife', dress however I like, and not expect a certain number of virgins waiting for me when I pass on.My Mormon friend was adamant, no caffeine or any drugs, including coke.
