Iran

I’ve already posted this once on how I think Iran will respond. They don’t need any common sense to know this they can still stick to their extremist ideology and rhetoric and still see they have zero chance to stand toe to toe with the US military and even hope for getting in one lucky punch. Instead they will bide their time and wait for another 9/11 style opportunity
They were already doing that anyway.

It's called being realistic and not drinking the Kool Aid bro.

I mean you do understand that military action can actually compound problems instead of of solving them, right?

Yes but I am not going to actively root for Iran or cheer against my nation just because I disagree with the President.

National Debt is causing more of an issue than any of these wars (although wars compound that by adding to it).

The ****?

Me telling you what I think Iran is going to do hardly constitutes me wanting that to happen. It's simply a statement of fact nothing more nothing less.

Yeah, it’s not like we suddenly woke up one morning and decided Iran was a problem. We have been in a slow bake war with them for 46 years. They had multiple MULTIPLE opportunities to end this diplomatically but always kept pushing the envelope with whatever they could get away with

The war propaganda machine is insane.

Right now, we have continual bipartisan support for military aid to Israel.

A president who promised to keep us out of war bombs Iran, unprovoked, without approval from congress, and didn't invoke the War Powers resolution...just 6 months into his presidency. And an alarming number of people here are all about this.

My wife hit the road yesterday to go see my family. I'll catch up to them next week. This is what she sent me. WTF is wrong with America? We are scared of the stupidest **** and those fears lead us around by the nose.

Sounds just like 10/7

No wonder Huff is so stirred

Bingo.

Asymmetric attacks are coming. Americans will likely die. There will likely be economic pain.

I get that Israel is pawning them right now, but I still don't think there's a military solution here.
Pwning
If you are using gamer slang or owning if you aren't.

I see the following possible Iranian government responses:

1. Acquiesce to Trump's demands. No retaliation. Make peace with everyone (doubtful).

2. No response, but continue to strike Israel.

3. Direct strikes from Iran on nearby US military bases such as those located in Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE. Iran could use their medium/short range ballistic missile stockpile for these strikes.

4. Strikes or attacks on US military bases or even infrastructure by their proxies or sleeper cells, approved by the Iranian government.

5. Blockade of the strait of Hormuz.

6. Cyber-attacks against Israel and the US. This could also occur in combination with any of the above options.

Really the only real offensive option they have is to use their proxies. I just can't see the Iranian government being dumb enough to directly engage a war on two fronts, especially considering how badly they are losing to Israel right now.

Blockade of the Persian Gulf will not work either, because China won't allow it (at least, I don't think they would).

The Iranian government's best option is to just make peace. Of course, I don't really see that happening.

Any other possibilities I'm missing?

Edit: Something to note too is that calculus completely changes with Chinese or Russian involvement.

I believe your comment from last night was that only Republicans could be trusted because Dems would spill the beans. I’m not going to go back and look. If that’s not what you said then I’ll apologize. If it is what you said, then you essentially accused about 48% of the legislative branch of treason.
Well deserved in my opinion. The democrats have become fully Marxist as far as I can tell. Their greatest hope is to harm the United States as much as possible. You can't bring the revolution to happy people.

The enrichment of nuclear material — and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons — will continue," Dmitry Medvedev, now the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, said in a Sunday X post.
The ironic thing is that the Russians don’t seem to realize that a rabidly Islamic regime bordering their own restless majority Muslim areas having a nuclear weapon is not an even larger unstable threat to them instead of us.

I realize they have been sponsoring proxies since 1979. But they haven’t done anything near the level of 9/11 which is how I think they will respond. I hope they don’t but that’s about all they have the means to do. We live in an open western democracy. We saw just how easy it was to execute 9/11. Hell our flight training centers trained the terrorist pilots.

A clear violation of the Non nuclear Proliferation Treaty

BTW, what ever happened with the 900 lbs of 83.6% enriched uranium?

Expert Details Iran’s Routes To Retaliation Against U.S.: ‘Wash Away Blood With Blood’

"The regime, just like its proxies, is down, but it is not out."

Tehran wants retribution after the United States bombed several Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend and has several avenues of exacting it, according to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Iran expert, Benham Ben Taleblu.

Iran could launch missiles against United States assets in the Middle East, attack through proxies, activate terrorist agents in the U.S., or leverage relationships with transnational criminal organizations to attempt high-profile attacks or assassinations, according to Taleblue, the senior Iran program director and a senior fellow at the foundation.

For roughly 15 years, Iran has cultivated relationships with transnational gangs to murder targets in the United States, according to Taleblu.

“The Iranians have tried to kill – on U.S. soil – the Saudi ambassador by working with Mexican drug cartels. They’ve tried to go after a journalist, a U.S. citizen of Iranian origin in New York, by working with, I think it was an Eastern European mafia. And they’ve tried to go after others by even using a Canadian biker gang,” Taleblu said.
