The first mistake was thinking that he could harness and train Milton’s cannon of an arm. Milton probably looked great in practice but would revert immediately in games to trying to overpower the defense. Unfortunately he overpowered his receivers as well. I don’t think he was ever able to read a defense and change the play on his own.The want to might be there, but he doesn't have the confidence in his QBs to let 'em just play. Hence the timid play calling. And yeah, that's on Heupel. He chose Milton and Nico. Bad evals. Backed into/inherited Hooker so he gets no credit for that.
