If I was TN, I’d make a NIL play at Arvidson and encourage him to stay for the 2026 season as a starter. If Arvidson put up stellar numbers as a weekend starter in the SEC, he would be a high 1st rounder. He would be 22 for the 2026 MLB Draft. Not a bad choice IMHO.

He wasn’t invited to the MLB combine so are we sure he’s a lock to go? Not sure how that works compared to NFL combine but the was over 300 guys invited

I think Arvidson is gone. There were so many scouts at that Texas game in Hoover that some club will take a chance on him

He’s a lock to go barring some creative NiL deal at UT. Just for fun speculation, if Loy heard that Arvidson was likely returning, easily explains why he quickly hit the portal. If Arvidson unlikely returned, he would be a weekend starter from day 1.

Arvidson coming back for another year under Tony V and Frank would excite the heck out of me. He could be Randy Johnson-esque with another year of development on the Frank Anderson Arm Farm

I’m not sure I agree that the Loy situation is tied to Arvidson. I know you said “fun speculation” though lol. Just adding my two cents.

I don’t think Tony envisions Loy as a full-time SEC starting pitcher otherwise he probably would have fought harder to keep him. We will run with Kuhns/Seibert and probably snag a high-level transfer from the portal as the third guy.
