I get what you are saying but look at how old he is. I mean could you imagine having coached that long and now you have to deal with the BS that is college football? Now do you honestly think if Saban were 60, that he would have retired? I highly doubt it.Not to disrespect Saban and his legacy, I mean, I don't like the guy, but the resume speaks for itself. But isn't it strange that he retired when everyone could pay players and he no longer had the under-the-table advantage? People like to say everyone was cheating. Everyone was trying to cheat. But only certain teams, like Bama, were allowed to do it with impunity. Why do you think Cornbread was so brazen? He thought he'd be able to do here like they did at Bama.
Exactly. I have 2 sister-in-laws in Nashville, but when I left Greeneville in May, headed home to Baton Rouge, I did not stop in Nashville, after entirely avoiding Chattanooga and the entire state of Alabama. Yes, I do know geography, with multiple degrees in it. Booyah!I can positively, 150% vouch that our ilk doesn't visit Nashville unless its business related. Hatred is a strong word, but do not like. We avoid anything W of Kingston.
To be fair, people like to say Saban was "the best" at cheating, but how many investigations were there? How can he be "the best" if he was never investigated? When you're allowed to do it with impunity, I don't think you can say they're "the best". They had a different set of rules than everyone else had to play by. And when the playing field was even, Saban called it quits. You can blame his age, you can blame his wife, you can blame whatever you want. But suddenly, he no longer had the same advantage. How did he respond? He quit.I get what you are saying but look at how old he is. I mean could you imagine having coached that long and now you have to deal with the BS that is college football? Now do you honestly think if Saban were 60, that he would have retired? I highly doubt it.
FSU, Miami, Nebraska, USC all cheated with impunity. I mean Saban absolutely cheated. What makes you and others so angry is he was the best at it and he won. Let’s be honest, if McGump woild have won 10-11 games here, would the cheating have EVER been mentioned? No it wouldn’t have.
Trying to discredit Saban for what he did is silly. He is the undisputed GOAT of college football coaches and it’s not close.
that is impressive. btw chatt is tech east tennesseeExactly. I can’t believe the hate buddy, I was in Tempe the night we won and was proud to be a Tennessee Vol that night. I for the life of me will never understand the negativity from some of this fan baseYeah. That’s the true measure of greatness. Not what you do against ranked teams, but what you do against teams that are 1-10.![]()
