Yeah, it's called Taco night here also. Same stuff.
My son played baseball from t ball to coach pitch thru little league and then on to jr high and then through high school. He played football from jr pro all the way thru jr high and then thru high school.. He wrestled two years, Played on the golf team a couple of years. We traveled across the state through the little league all star tournaments and then baseball districts, regionals, state tournaments etc thru his high school years and of course the football playoffs as well. Point being, with us it was year round ball of some sort even without the so called "travel ball". We know quite a few who did though. It gets very expensive over time and tends to lead to a lot of kids eventually getting burned out and giving up the sport. The travel ball thing seems like a huge racket. Everyone I know hates it, and I honestly don't want my kids to do it. But I also don't want to deprive them of it if they get really into baseball or any sport that has it. Tough situation.
So tonight we have a scrimmage to get ready for district. Our third base lady missed a pop up. No big deal [because it's 8 year olds playing softball for fun]
"...the overwhelming fan favorite for quite some time has been Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello."![]()
Vitello seems up for being next Arkansas coach, but Tennessee has one major edge
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It's no secret that talk around the office vending machines across Arkansas have sometimes circled around to whether Razorbacks baseball...www.si.com
Unless your kid has baseball scholarship potential, I'd argue travel ball (the stereotypical every weekend and many thousands of dollars per season variety) is bad for your kid. If they grow up thinking sports is all there is to life, they'll be empty and unsatisfied later in life and they'll miss a lot of valuable childhood experiences because they had so much of their life devoted to one single area. The travel ball thing seems like a huge racket. Now if baseball is going to be their life into adulthood and a possible career, that's not always a bad thing. But most kids don't benefit later in life from that type of childhood. I did it for a season before my parents threw in the towel, and none of those permanent travel ball kids I knew turned out to be the kind of adults I'd want my kid to be. Maybe just coincidence, but I think a more well rounded childhood is better for almost every kid.

Cowboys have 5 of these while Packers only have 4.
They could be the greatest NFL franchise ever but they just couldn't get it done when the lights were the brightest. It's a good thing they had Jimmy Johnson for a couple of years.View attachment 748202
