Sometimes I am not sure if my teenage children (naturally born US citizens) are actually speaking EnglishAs I alluded to earlier, broken English would be a pretty good indicator that a person didn't grow up here, thus may not be a citizen. Now, they may have come and gotten citizenship/residency later in life. But it's a pretty good indicator.
People acting like the majority of us are likely to be swept up and kicked out of the country is laughable.
Do you have any statistical evidence with which to back up your assertion? The endgame for RealID isnt to reduce terrorism but to give Rs another avenue to suppress poorer vote...
Seems more like Democrats USE “marginalized” groups. We see how they’ve tossed the AA community aside. The new holy grail is illegal immigrants.Immigrants are the scapegoat flavor of the day for the right and democrats take in marginalized groups. It’s no more simple or complex than that. Is it right? That’s for individuals to decide, but it’s history repeating itself for the umpteenth time.
With those we're up to, what 0.35% of the population? If we want to hit an appreciable percentage we'll have to include people who aren't clearly scum to everyone.I can't accept that you don't know there are people out there that can pretty much, and for good reason, be universally hated, right? I'll start with a couple easy ones. Every MF'er that makes a business out of scamming old people out of their livelihood can be set on fire right now. Every MF'er that's trafficking children for sex can be fed alive to hogs. We've got more than a little room before hitting any gray area.
White privelege LOLSeveral years back I was driving from Yuma AZ to San Diego after a days work. I was driving I-8 which comes within a couple of miles to the border and is a common place for illegals to be picked up and transported. So there are frequent CBP checkpoints around that area. As I pulled up in my obvious Chevy midsize rental car with my white redneck butt and rolled down the window the agent gave me a 2 second glance, didn’t even look in the backseat, and waived me on thru. “Gracias! Adios!”
@hog88 will sign off on all lawyers and the entire state of Texas. That should get us there. Sorry @NorthDallas40How many will lawyers get us up to?
It's effectively the exact same thing when the feds know he is there, and the locals send them out without notification--which is what is happening. They're not being asked to hold them. They're being asked to be notified before release.I may be splitting hairs but I see a difference in actively hiding someone ICE is looking for and a Sheriff telling the Feds to piss off "we're not holding someone for you".
Do you have any statistical evidence with which to back up your assertion?
Also, why would we even WANT to suppress voting blocks that are increasingly supporting us?

Yes it is a failure of government. But not in the sense you think. It's bizarre that I can post a video about strife in yet another city in America and you guys are like, "this is awesome." Because you view it as the left suffering at the hands of the feds, I guess?
It's a failure of government that we are having standoffs in cities all across America right now. Do you guys need to be reminded that none of this is good and that better government would have avoided it?
It's like every little action is judged solely on the basis of whether or not the government can justify the severity of the response. Nobody GAF about any other consideration. This is all bad. This is a failure of leadership from one admin to the next. And the right is getting their yucks about turmoil in America, a land they claim to love.
Here is how I am thinking of this.
Rs typically wouldn't want to create this level of bureaucracy. The terrorism angle is flimsy so the next best angle is elections. Rs are adamant about photo ID. I am for photo ID. But, we know the goals around photo ID wont stop with a normal DL or a college ID card, etc. It will have to be a REAL ID. It will put power for local DMVs to decide who votes for POTUS.
The people who have yet to get a real ID are still overwhelmingly D voters. When elections with 160 million voters are determined by thousands of swing voters in 7 states....
RealID is silly. Just one more thing to lop onto an already overbearing Patriot Act. However, not sure I agree with you on the motive. Real ID only required to board commercial aircraft and some federal facilities. You don’t have to have one if you never intend or have reason to do either, so it doesn’t affect one’s ability to vote. The endgame for RealID isnt to reduce terrorism but to give Rs another avenue to suppress poorer vote...
We really don't know. From what I can gather, ICE doesn't need a warrant if it's in a public space. Workplaces/businesses are considered public spaces if they are open to the public, with minor caveats per them being over ~ 250 sq/ft. Unless we know the details of the workplace, we really just can't say.It seems they went there to arrest specific people so they should have had warrants.
