President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

That's ridiculous unless you mean illegally detained. I don't have to carry id to exist in the usa. The burden of proof is on them
I don't have to carry money either, but it sure can come in handy if I need it. That's all he's saying.

And the "burden of proof" == "probable cause" in the case of being detained.

It was probably a reference to the claims that ICE is targeting Home Depots to bust the day-workers that congregate there.
If my profile was of someone who is likely to be asked, I'd certainly have my stuff in order. A guy i use on home reno carries his in his truck.

Literally no one said you do. Sure the burden of proof is on them. But you’re increasing the odds that you’re wrongly detained. It’s your decision, but it’s a joke to blame anyone else or the system for your own poor decision.

Several years back I was driving from Yuma AZ to San Diego after a days work. I was driving I-8 which comes within a couple of miles to the border and is a common place for illegals to be picked up and transported. So there are frequent CBP checkpoints around that area. As I pulled up in my obvious Chevy midsize rental car with my white redneck butt and rolled down the window the agent gave me a 2 second glance, didn’t even look in the backseat, and waived me on thru. “Gracias! Adios!”

Depends on their probable cause.

Take Loud's marshall example. The report says he matched the description of a suspect.

Or maybe they talk to someone with a heavy accent and broken english. It's justified to assume they are not a citizen.

Stop me at random for no reason, I can clearly articulate in perfect southern English--"no".
