President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

The local PD's are outfitted to go to war, too. This is why libertarians have been complaining about militarized police for 4 decades.

One difference in this case, is they're wearing masks because that's what the good guys do in an authoritarian regime.
again, does anyone have an example they can share of these G.I. Ice?

I am still thinking its, kevlar vest, a long gun (maybe), and the typical side arm? I would be pissed if that was what I was sent to war in. just like calling this an insurrection is wrong and inflammatory, calling that standard issue equipment "equipped for war" is purposefully misleading. again unless I have missed an example that goes beyond the above.

I have made my opinion known about them wearing masks. and I have no issues with discussing the level that any non-enlisted government agency is armed, but I have yet to see an example that even raises an eyebrow in regards to ICE.

Nobody said they are arrresting Gavin Newsome. I said they are making threats, which is authoritarian.

It's actually quite a bit different than Democrats going after Trump. He's making threats in real time to achieve political compliance and squash local government with the power of the federal government, which is a direct threat to our constitution.

Democrats were just using the law to get revenge on a filthy piece of ****, which I won't shed a single tear about. I've been waiting my whole life for a president to face retribution. Cry me a river. It's called karma.
Someone please frame this post.

I am going to Washington from June 14-21. That is where my son wanted to go after graduating High School. IT is a coincidence that the parade is that weekend. I will be checking out the parade and festivities. I don't agree with the parade or the BBB but I doubt my attendance or patriotism will make much of a difference.

LOL. I thought you were joking about going.

A first generation doesn't need a passport. They are an american. There are other records which document their citizenship.

There are redundancies in place which means people don't have to carry the passport daily. But they do need to produce it when required.
ICE isn't conducting these raids at ports of entry.

I don't carry anything that would prove my citizenship. I doubt that ICE would be willing to follow me to my house to find my passport, or SS card.

we are all innocent until the government proves us guilty. got video of someone crossing the border, and then find then a 7/11 800 miles away, sure arrest them. hang out in a Home Depot parking lot not breaking any laws, ICE should just keep stepping.

we are NO WHERE close to any type of environment that justifies reducing mine, yours, or anyone's rights.

How long would it take you to prove your citizenship?

Keep stepping like these people did?

5 seconds, show my GA real ID drivers license, had to produce my birth certificate to get it
you know immigrants can get real ID here in Georgia too, right?

that doesn't prove citizenship. I didn't have to provide birth certificate, SS card, or passport to get mine.

I don’t either. But I didn’t read it as him making that point. I could be wrong.

There were large populations of people (Haitians?) that were granted a temporary legal status.

Not talking about dude that trekked all the way from Colombia to El Paso and proclaimed - “I don’t feel safe. I demand asylum.”
I was thinking of student visas revoked for protected speech.

No passport and no record of passport or processing when entering the country means immediate deportation.

We processed in and out of Japan. I assume it is the same for people coming into America with passport.

If there is a record of processing into america, but no passport, those folks can get with their embassy for a replacement just like I would have had to do if we lost ours in Japan.
If there's no passport, or the suspect doesn't surrender it, then how does ICE know they're foreigners? We're way over 5 seconds with that.

It proves that they are a legal resident.
lol, Trump has changed that multiple times for hundreds of thousands of people. your Real ID card isn't going to magically lose its star once Trump makes another group of immigrants illegal.

residency was real easy to prove for me in GA. two different utility bills and GA was happy to grant me a real ID. pretty sure those utilities never established my citizenship or residency before sending me a bill.

Why don't you just ask for the chip in the neck, then they can just scan you ez pz in any situation.

No chip, deported.

We don't know what the Government’s review process is....at least i don't. Hog is also unaware.
You have traveled abroad. We're you processed into the country you visited?

America does a basic thing to rid ourselves of people here illegally and everyone loses their minds.

Everyone else does the sensible thing and expels illegal immigrants and it's all good.

Weird world.

PS: managing immigration and our borders is one of the very few things the government ought to be doing, unless you're a total lunatic.

Please refer to my most recent reply to Louder.

If you encounter someone who is not a citizen, has no record of entry with passport, and cannot produce a passport you (by default) have someone here illegally.

Say that they didn't allow it?

But your GA DL should be sufficient since GA requires proof of immigration/citizenship to get a DL. You should probably keep that nearby.
no idea. arrest/detainment period until I got my phone call. if I have a phone book or access to numbers from my phone I could try and get someone into my house to grab the necessary documents. otherwise I would call my parents, they still have my birth certificate, in Alabama. last resort would be some sort of lawyer with immigration background. I would have to wait for any of them to get there, and provide whatever documentation to get me out.

I guess its ok in your book that a citizen might spend a night in jail or spend thousands of dollars on a lawyer just because ICE heard me saying "buenos dias" while looking tan.

I should not have to prove my innocence unless they have reasonable suspicion that I broke some law. and considering the LA situation, I don't trust the local NG to be up to date on what counts as reasonable suspicion.

Oh no, I'm 100% not ok with that. If that happened to you or any other legal resident I would hope you file a successful lawsuit.

This is near conspiratorial levels of delusion.
