Trade Wars and Tariffs

there are a lot of blood vessels near the surface around the eye/upper skull. willing to bet you aren't letting your son punch you in the face with any power behind it.

You lose that bet.

The only time he's really hurt me is he punched me in the neck where the jaw and neck meet, and it disoriented me. Must've struck a nerve.

Get him to turn those hips for more power, then those bruises will start showing up. The logical candidate for Musk’s black eye is Miller, though. He should’ve gone with the throat punch or on the chin for the KO if he really wanted to send a message.

He can't reach my face if he's in a position to turn his hips. 😃

Then you better wear a cup dude!

Oh dude, that's where my hands always are in protection.

We have this sweet video of him when he's 2 at a fair and he sprints across a field to me to give me a hug, and I ruined it because I covered my nuts when he got close, instead of with open arms.

It's just a big red bullseye to little boys

"The CBO report contradicts many standard anti-tariff arguments. Despite what the CBO sees as negative effects on growth and inflation, the tariffs produce a net fiscal gain, and the economic damage is modest, frontloaded, and mostly reversible. It positions the new tariffs as a fiscally conservative policy that raises revenue and lowers debt with relatively limited macroeconomic fallout—especially if the trade leverage leads to better terms or foreign concessions."

this relies on the wishful thinking that we are going to replace 1:1, or somewhat close to that, the overseas manufacturing we are tariffing with domestic production. it won't be anywhere close to that. some will end up back home, but most of it is going to stay abroad and just cost us more.

"I vote Republican because they're good with the economy!"

Soon, they can all live the dream of being part of "the army of millions and millions of human beings screwing in little screws to make iPhones" when Apple most assuredly repatriates factories to US soil.

I'm not sure why people think these manual jobs are coming back to the US. The physical factory might but it's going to be automated and run with as few people as possible. The rich will get richer through this move or they wouldn't be in favor of it. Trump isn't ever going to go against the interests of US corps

Really? US Corps hate his tariffs. You think tariffs on steel are in the interests of US Corps? P&G just announced cuts today because of the uncertainty that Trump's tariffs have caused

Agreed, I think we should get rid of all tariffs and pay all companies to go over seas.
