Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Can Adidas get the orange right? That’s gotta be the first question we ask them. Nike won the hearts of all Tennessee fans by just getting the orange correct and consistent.

15 years of Adidas partnerships and 15 different shades of Orange were used just in football jerseys. That’s not counting football pants, other sports uniforms, fan apparel… etc. None of it was consistent. From the Brown Orange of the 90s, to the highlighter yellow of the 2010s. Adidas was garbage every step of the way.

I think one year they nailed it, 2012 I think? May still be the best our standard jersies looked since I’ve been a fan

But really I don’t see it being an issue at this point. Adidas is offering crazy money for us to be their flagship program. We have final say on what it looks like, our current AD will make them get the color correct

I don’t care how much money they offer. If we go out there again and have a different shade of orange on the pants and the jerseys, you’re going to see Adidas being used against us in recruiting…. Again.

I love ZZ, but i dont like him suing for a 5th year of eligibility tbh. The only way in any way shape or form that a player should be able to play a 6th year is if he got hurt before playing 50% of the season. JUCO players and players like ZZ shouldn’t get an extra year just because

Why do you think our oline will be worse than last year? I happen to think our oline will be vastly improved and a strength of the team.
Very young and/or new to the system across the board.

I’m worried about the center position and who’s going to hold down the RT spot (essentially a freshman). I hope Heard makes a huge year 2 leap in the system too - playing healthy and in shape, but it’s not a given.
