I'm going with a Supreme Court precedent from 1988. A woman was fired from her job in 1981 because she basically said, "Next time I hope they get him" in reference to the Reagan assassination attempt. She sued, and it eventually went to the Supreme Court, who found in her favor. She was reinstated with back pay.

Not sure what kind of job that was because a company can fire you for anything with not liking something you say near the top of the list. Sounds like you’re leaving a lot out.

Was George W. Bush a liberal? He did order an American troop invasion of a sovereign nation under the false pretense that they possessed weapons of mass destruction. That isn't something that any of the last 4 Democratic Party Presidents have done.

I don't think so, but he didn't ask for it either, and he took the step of acknowledging that he shouldn't have been awarded it. Donald Trump has practically begged for a Nobel Peace Prize. It's pathetic.

That case was about a private conversation, and regarding a public sector job. Meaning it only applies to public sector jobs and to speech in private.
