Was Adidas the uniform provider when Dooley coached. I remember the uniforms looked terrible and the orange wasn’t close to Pantone 151.Please God no, Adidas is so damn bad. The uniforms are ill-fitting, cheap material trash. The fan gear is extremely limited. The player shoes are outright dangerous. Their color palate is inaccurate. As a company, they're comparatively poor.
Washington & Texas Tech both switched recently and look terrible. Everyone that leaves Adidas looks immediately better in Nike/UA apparel.
Look it up by year, championship programs (of all sports) do not wear Adidas in 2025. Not a single blueblood will touch it.
They were even worse during the Fulmer years. The last couple of years of adidas they did get the orange right, but the uniforms were atrocious. Small numbers, “Tennessee” on the away uniforms, the tire tread on the shoulders. We looked like one of those Pop Warner teams that use the power T and color scheme. I won’t be happy going back to adidas, but it’s not my call. I hope if we do, they’ll just stick to making our uniforms traditional. To me it’s hard to F up a Tennessee uniform and adidas did that quite often back in the day. Just keep it simple and don’t think too hardWas Adidas the uniform provider when Dooley coached. I cannot wear Nike footwear no matter style, type, the premium ones or not. I can wear Adidas which is why I would prefer them.Sources: UT Athletics Mulling New Apparel Deal With Adidas — FOX SPORTS KNOXVILLE
Sources have indicated to Fanrun Sports that the likelihood of Tennessee Athletics moving its apparel rights from Nike to Adidas is “high.”
The University of Tennessee and Adidas have already met about a potential reunion, according to people familiar with the situation.
Adidas feels good about how the meetings went. They are going hard after Tennessee and landing the deal is currently their top priority.
It is accurate to say at this point that Adidas has presented an offer. The company was UT’s apparel partner pre-2015 when the school agreed to a deal with Nike.
The Adidas deal isn’t done yet, though, as Nike still has a card to play known as “first right of refusal.”
I know most won't like this but I'm for it. I'm a big guy and I always preferred the fit of Adidas T Shirts and Long Sleeves to Nike.
The Jumpman brand that's owned by Nike?I second the idea to reach out to the Jumpman brand and see if they would consider giving it a go. Our fan base can support any hopes of merch sales. The kids would dig Jordan brand equally to Nike, I believe. And, our basketball has been a near-the-top competitor consistently enough to wear the brand proudly and represent Jordan's legacy.
Adidas has zero charisma, swag. Not inherently, just how they do them. Their design teams appeal to overseas demographics well enough, but fail miserably to understand the vibe of U.S. branding and stylization
Jordan is a sub brand of Nike. Like Lexus is to Toyota. Stock in Jordan is crazy. I could see non UT fans wearing UT themed Jordan apparel. Adidas, not so much. Soooo many non-sports fans out there on the Jordan bandwagon would buy UT gear just cause it's Jordan.Jordan is Nike.
It's about getting more money, not saving it
So Nike, like I said. Made by the same children workers in the same factoryJordan is a sub brand of Nike. Like Lexus is to Toyota. Stock in Jordan is crazy. I could see non UT fans wearing UT themed Jordan apparel. Adidas, not so much. Soooo many non-sports fans out there on the Jordan bandwagon would buy UT gear just cause it's Jordan.
Adidas has its place in the game, but nothing like the draw of the Jordan brand

I agree it’s a weird thing to have a very strong opinion on, let alone get all worked up about. Mountain out of a molehill IYAMView attachment 742208
I find it hard to give a rat's ass who has an apparel deal.
