I can see some NFL owners getting their jimmies rustled when the NBA ran commercials Christmas Day about how the NFL may have Thanksgiving but Christmas belongs to the NBA.

I wouldn't be surprised if Goodell got some scheduling suggestions.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often with all pro sports. Wasn't there something similar happen with Eli & Archie Manning or maybe it was Peyton leading up to the draft?

I think it mostly aligns with how the rest of your schedule goes. Did you get your bye when your team was beat up? Who did you play after your bye (because if you have a rest advantage over a better team, you can steal a win).
