Actually, I would not mind having an electric push mower. Have a couple of areas that are too big for the weed eater, but too small for the regular mower. Have a gas one that currently isn't starting and needs some TLC I've not done.

That's exactly my situation and I had a manual reel for like 5 years. Upgraded to a 40v mower and was so happy about the change. Didn't realize what I was missing but it was hard to justify a $250 mower for 500 sq feet of grass.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've not seen anything from the usual crowd screaming their heads off, any acknowledgement there is a problem with Chinese trade and that no one until Trump has attempted to do squat about it. He may be wrong and we'll find out, but at least he knows there are problems and has a course of action.

Kind of like saying no one did squat about complaints regarding the federal government until Tim McVey.

Obama did more to challenge Chinese practices with the WTO than any president ever.

Bush famously with steel tariffs, but there were others.

I'm calling it right now. Trump's going to get us a ****** long-term deal with some kind of terms in it that make it look like China will take IP laws seriously, it'll be as flimsy as always, and he'll claim victory.

I cleaned out some of my house this weekend. I have three kids. When Trump says maybe we don't need 8-9 Barbies, I think he has a point. Also, from an environment perspective, the current system is pretty destructive.

You're saying the "plan" is to bring high skill manufacturing jobs back home. But really, and they said so explicitly, it's for all manufacturing, even the low value stuff. Jobs which even the Chinese labor market is becoming too expensive for.

It's not an important part of our business but it was something we were trying to grow. Not sure anybody else has 120v, so it has its appeal

I was wondering why a 3Ahr battery made sense I missed the 120V so ok that is how it makes it feasible. And I was wondering when we’d start seeing higher operating voltages on the higher power battery tools.

60V Toros that are made in America are 500-600 dollars. What was the price before Tariffs. i figured Temu would be one of the hardest hit but haven’t noticed any significant change at all.

Going to disagree with you here. Trump has been far more aggressive with China than anyone else and it's not close. Obama did make noise about Chinese practices, but nothing happened for a distant second.

I do not recall the Bush steel tariffs, but did that manage to only get us cheap low-quality Chinese steel?

You're moving the goalposts.

You said "no one has attempted to do squat about it" when the truth is they all have, it's just an unsolvable problem. Trump was pretty aggressive with them in his first term. We won nothing. He's being aggressive with them now. He'll claim victory, even though it's false, just like he did in his first term with China and the USMCA.

And $220 for a 40v mower WITHOUT a battery is not a good deal based on recent history. My 40v a few years back was that price with the battery/charger and a bag. A Ryobi battery and charger is like $100 by itself.

I’m sure that the manufacturing process is highly automated, so the Barbie doll making jobs in modern facilities are going to be well paying ones.

Mattel might be an extreme example of spending a lot of money on foreign payrolls while funding them by selling into the US consumer market. They’d probably not be singled out if their sales mix more mirrored their CapEx investment footprint.

IMO Trump could be suggesting making an example out of Barbies since almost every American understands what they are.

Anything to hurt China is good as far as I’m concerned.

Apple stock is a large investment for me personally. I’d be better off if they continued making and selling all of those iPhones in China. I’m taking a hit by keeping my investment in AAPL as they pivot away from that model.
