2025 Transfer Portal

Well said! And now that we have an impressive portal class.. just as when we reeled in the top HS recruiting class the narrative has changed for some that want to now only talk about every other team in the SEC and shift the focus from Tennessee.
The agenda is futile and won’t make it anywhere.
I’m extremely happy for the players and coaches. They’ve have worked hard and continue to do so in a way that represents Tennessee at a high level.
If any team deserves a championship in 2025-2026 it’s these Lady Vols.
Time to put in the work and earn it.
GBO🍊.

yeah i have been really amazed at how much parsing goes on here to find a negative inference of some kind. this is also coming after more than a decade of hard times for the lady vols in ALL areas. i firmly believe some posters could never be happy aside from us winning a national championship. even winning the SEC would somehow be questionable. i just don't choose to live my life through that lens. carry on though. ha.

Tell me how having 13 players including 7 McDonald’s All-Americans, 9 in the Top 30, on a WBB roster ranked from Top 5 - Top 70 does nothing to make the point?
How many teams you know of with 7 five - stars and 6 four-stars? Likely no more than 3 or 4 other teams in WBB.
As I indicated the first time, the five stars and top 30 comments are relevant. Top 70 players are not an indicator of being elite.

Nya Robertson can shoot the three. The coaches here can take her game to the next level.

Yes I know that just figured they would get the fifteenth scholarship filled. They could have a rotation of 3 groups that way. But really like to see a theee pointer like Judd or the Texas Girl. Thanks for information I know we have a great team in the making.

It boggles my mind how many people didnt like this acquisition the girl is a dawg...yes she was a high volume shooter because her team was trash...if we were happy about samara i think this is a better player by a mile i can only imagine what she could do with this team and being more efficient which the coaches will work with her on....its hard being a good player on a trash team coming to a contender jewel had to get used to this as well

You made some great points. Now as far as Samara Spencer that injury in the tourney in Florida definitely was a season long setback. She didn’t look the same the rest of the season even in her good moments following the injury.
As for Nya Robertson, she’s very athletic and has good basketball skills. When I watch her film I see a mix of Ruby Whitehorn and Jasmine Powell.
She can definitely play and was a steal in the portal.
I think the transition of coming from mediocre or bad teams for Whitehorn, Spencer, and Spearman were good in year 1 under the new staff. Having top tier assistant coaches with SEC experience was a great asset to the team.

We should take this girl and just see what we can do with her. She’s 6’6’ but she can stroke it. Limited sample size but she was 10-37 from three for 37% and 4-6 for 67% last season. Fun project at 6-6.

Can’t teach 6-6” and shooting stroke. Wonder what’s holding her back?

I had said that about the Kitts player from the gators except she is 6’4” I think. Me I would give the last scholar to someone with 2 to 3 years left

McDowell is so good, I love her game, not flashy but man, she can play.

Makeer is potential with a capitol P but she needs a lot of work.
Makeer i think wouldve been bomb here as far as all the things we look for i think the learning curve at USC will be steep do dawn have the patient to wait cuz just based on physical traits and the things she is already good at she would be in rotation here and thrive...

Curious what this is referring to.

My take: Coach Lazo was impressed with Kim's recruiting prowess. Be it her presence in such a setting or her ability to impress who she needs to at such events.

Are we impressed with her? Yes, so chances are her staff is to.

He may have been referring to the players in the first part of his post. But, I took it as it was all Kim.

Kim has the perfect IT factor when it comes to recruiting number 1 she is as straight up as it get and number 2 she loves offense and if u can put the ball in the basket with no leash no plays having to be drawn up for you thats what young people love

Got to stop believing all the paywall rumors w/ NIL.
One site claim Barker got 500k from Tennessee. Now Tennessee could pay 500k, I keep telling folks nobody has more NIL money than Tennessee.
Honestly, after watching Barker highlights since the commitment I would give her that amount if necessary. I just don’t think that’s what players are demanding from teams in the portal. The numbers are inflated.
Either way, Barker is the best talent that has entered the portal the last two seasons.
She was the #3 player out of HS for a reason.
Last portal player this talented was Lauren Betts who was #1 in the same 2022 class.
Interesting statement Knox, could you provide a link or some type of affirmation that Tenn has more NIL money than every other team? Or is that just a feeling you have? Thx, I’ll hang up and listen.

Last yr they had about 550k to spread amongst the girls. Most players all received the same amount of money except the one who really weren't consistent contributors. This yr they might have more based on how they performed last season and based on the quality of girls brought in for this upcoming season. Don't believe some of the numbers that you hear the girls are getting from the "schools". If you hear a kid is getting a large amount then its from a big donor/booster who put up the funds to get them.

Were they at Big OH’s game? They said all the coaches recruiting her were there.
