I can certainly agree with that. That’s what’s wrong with kids these days. No one wants to compete for the job, they just want hand-outs.

How hard is it to just add Chaikin and Perry. If getting Gainey back we are fine. I see no reason why those two would be hard to get or super excpensive. Does this staff just not like Chaikin. Don’t understand why he is still out there. Really good stats for a true freshman.

If that's the case, pick up Chaikin and Perry and call it a day. Depend on them to provide elite shooting in modest minutes and teach them to play defense like he taught Vescovi. In the meantime, run with Evans who I'm getting to like more and more the more I look at him. 6'5", 211 lbs., 6-10 wingspan, decent handle, just needs a little more consistency on his 3 ball (overall 30% -- a mix of great nights and bad ones).

I will be so bummed if we end up not getting Chaikin. Take Perry too if you want. Then if Gainey gets a 5th year, you've got Ament, JG, Chaikin, Perry, and Evans on the wing with Ament giving you some minutes at the 4 and one of the other guards like JG giving you some minutes at the 1. That's a darn good roster.

Yeah idk about this. Rolling with a freshman and a guy who rarely ever played… not sure how you expect to compete for championships without a legit 2 guard?

Who is our main competition for Chaikin? He’s my biggest want left out there. He is a pure shooter, and has multiple years left to play.

Gainey is a legit 2 guard. Evans is really good as well. Adams needs to understand work for your minutes. I am sure vols offer would be higher than those two he is visiting.

Hard to know which of the schools have upped it since original contact. He had a good Vandy visit. Supposedly talking to Indiana, St. Joe’s, UNC, VA Tech. We are a better fit, have more minutes than any serious competitor.

My thought on Adams and similar dudes/agents...
Barnes: "No playing time guarantee, here every guy on the roster earns his minutes, just ask Chaz Laneir; I benched him several times last year, but he grew up along the way. As far as money, this is our offer. You've got 48 hours to decide, we hope to hear from you."

This feels like the type of portal cycle that becomes so filled with drama that Barnes takes a second look at everything and just says, “This drama is stupid. I’m done.”

I don’t think he will, but with how things have been going with agents and the ridiculous demands, it’s always something in the back of my mind for someone at the end of their career.

No way Indiana is a legit option...talk about a money only move if that's the case.

Indiana has already added these guards

Nick Dorn, Jason Drake, Tayton Conerway, Jasai Miles, Lamar Wilkerson, Tucker DeVries, & Conor Enright

At this point they've only added 2 forwards in portal and have 1 HS forward signed.


Seems crazy any SG would want to join a roster with that many higher rated guys ahead of them...
