I’m here for it.I know I've been cracking on Shedeur Sanders all night but when you act like an entitled punk, a jerk to your teammates, and then your daddy gets the school to (undeservingly) retire your jersey, you deserve all the smoke you get. I hope the twitter crowd is lighting the Sanders clan up tonight. They earned it.
Truth is they will lose a lot of old school fans, just like the NFL and NBA did. I hardly watch the NFL or NBA anymore and I used to be an avid fan. Old school fans will be replaced and them some by the casuals and those that don't really know the difference as long as the tailgate food is good. To the NFL or CFB all that matters is the number of eyes. It doesn't matter whose eyes. What’s really going to hurt is when fans start checking out because rosters change every year, and it feels more like free agency than college athletics. If schools and players aren’t careful, they’ll lose the very thing that made college sports profitable in the first place: fan loyalty. No fans = no money, plain and simple.
Eventually, the market will correct itself, but by then, the damage might be done.
