FWIW, hes going sooner or later. Gmac is the better QB long term and Faizon is better than both.

I still think Merk can be the starter in game 1. Might see a 2- or 3-man QB rotation during the first few games. Our playoff destiny won't likely be decided until the 5-game stretch between Oct. 18 and Nov. 22. In other words, we have 6 games to either get Angelli familar with the system or get Merk/GMac some game experience. Big assumption there is that we can start 5-1 while figuring out the QB situation. Just have to avoid Syracuse, MSU, and Arkansas upsets.

For what its worth: ND loved the guy. It looks like he is just a little outclassed by Carr. ND fans are convinced they would have lost against PSU if Angeli hadn't stepped up for a drive.

Penn State had a good defense, he’s not one we should write off right away.
