'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

What do we think of this guy?
Obviously not who I was hoping for, but we are not in a position to complain.

It was always a stretch to expect a proven starter to bail on his team after spring practice, especially someone with NFL aspirations. Changing systems with only 4 months to prepare for the toughest defenses in college football isn't a recipe for impressing NFL scouts.

If this is our guy, I'll support him 100% and keep any criticisms that come up in the future to myself because this is a very tough situation for all involved. Hopefully the rest of Vol Nation gives everyone some grace as well.

I thought Langelli was the starter at Notre Dame this coming season. Pretty surprised that he would enter the portal, unless he’s just testing the waters for market value.

Beggars can't be choosers. If he wants to come and take on the task of learning Offense/WRs in 4 months, I stand behind him.

Maybe the staff thinks higher of Merk/Gmac than many on this board think

His 1 start in his career was the 2023 Sun Bowl against #21 Oregon State. He played great that game for what it's worth. Highly accurate. But I would agree he is likely more of a game manager as he isn't super mobile. But that might work in our offense as long as he can make accurate throws downfield.

Minchey and C.J. Carr must've bypassed this guy on depth chart during Spring practice...

If we end up with Notre dames 3rd string QB I’ll be extremely disappointed
I think the rumors got people way too delusional with this, no offense intended.

We were probaly never getting a top tier QB. But the rumor mill needed to brew excitement somehow, or else there’d be no interest from the fans.
