As someone who has been hit with a 2x4 over their own pride and humility I don't wish what Nico is going through on anyone. As someone who has benefited from both (in the long run) I pray all the wisdom he needs from this is gained as quickly as possible. God is good but His plans are often not easy.


I also pray he is also an example to save many others from similar fates.

To be clear, I’m not absolving Nico of blame nor disagreeing with how Tennessee handled it.

Two things can be true at once:

1) Nico is in the wrong and learned a tough life lesson. He was greedy and it cost him.

2) He’s still just 20-years old and clearly was not surrounded by a strong support system necessary to keep him from making bad decisions like this.

Nico can be wrong, and this situation can still be sad. Which, to me at least, it is. None of this had to happen like this. He’ll he regretting this for the rest of his life.

The bylaws that the SEC has on transfers could be fought and won. Ole Miss is in the mix now for a transfer QB. Would not be surprised to see Nico land there.

If it was up to you and you were given 4 million to use in the portal, how would you use it (from the choices below):

A starting QB
A backup QB
A starting RB
A backup RB
A starting Olineman
A backup Olineman
A starting WR
A backup WR

(I purposely left out defense because I believe the 4 million is needed more on offense. But, if you disagree, please list a defensive position).

Starting Lineman

Find a good RB with what’s left offensively.

I’m fine with our receivers honestly.
