Recruiting Football Talk VIII

As far as a vet QB needing more than the summer session to figure out the offense.

How about Joe Milton? He figured out the offense just fine after summer workouts and camp...he just missed too often.

None of these other guys will miss a million wide open guys all over the
field.

We will always run the ball well, Heup still schemes them open and our defense is good. Great things can still happen.

You know, part of me feels a bit bad for Nico. It’s really just a sad situation. Tennessee obviously did the right thing and we’re going to be better off long-term, but to watch a career derail like this in real-time is tough. He seemed by all accounts like a quiet kid who just wanted to play football, and now his dad and handlers have likely ruined him.

If he ends up at a place like Tulane, it will be funny, but also just a really sad outcome of this entire thing.

Man I really hope we get a starter out of the portal. Just feels like it would be too risky to stick with Merk and George. I hope @dascoop or @KingVFL weigh in soon. As a side note, I sure do miss ATLVol... Man would come in here and calm the situation down. Would have loved to still have him around during a weekend like last weekend.

He's an adult. If you are making millions you need to grow up. We are past the point of treating these college kids with gloves while they are trying to milk every penny from the fans and boosters.

I have changed my opinion some….this is on Nico.
He’s an adult. He’s got money. He scared to tell dad/handlers to butt out?

I have never seen a train wreck in person, but Nico’s career is as a close as I’ll get to witnessing one
As a *FORMER* Mavs fan. I've now gotten to watch TWO Nico's in the past three months ruin their careers over the most shocking decisions.

Between Iamaleava and Nico Harrison. I'm not sure which is worse! But I don't like the name Nico right now.

This.

I was of a similar mindset as the original post you were replying to, until I saw the reports that he was threatening to sit for the CFP game(s). That’s inexcusable.

As long as they are putting forth an effort and uphold the end of the deal they signed they have my support. I know players will have slumps and some just won't end up living up to the hype. I won't forgive people who take our support for granted and try to screw over the program without any regard to the commitment they agreed to and the program they are supposed to care about.

Lol!! What a joke! They have a lot of accomplishments they haven’t attained to put you in the discussion for having your number retired. I can probably understand Hunter since he won the Heisman, but Shedeur has no business getting his number retired. Laughable!
