Where is Nico likely to land?

True but with the hype around him (even if it is bad), someone might just want to invest in it. UCLA isn't a scrub brand either (although they are more known in LA for Basketball than Football. USC, as you point out, is the big football brand).
Would UCLA even want him. Remember his brother Madden committed to them and went to Arkansas so I'm not sure they want to deal with that family any more

I don't hate the kid, but from what I've heard, he's got a bad combo of terrible influence and some personal stuff. Throw in millions of dollars at 20 years old, and craziness is almost inevitable. He's talented, but I'm thinking this will end up an awful mistake for him.
That combo is an overbearing father and a sleazy agent.

It occurs to me that Nico COULD declare for the UFL draft in June or whatever it is. They don't apparently care about age like the NFL.

The money isn't good but it would probably keep on the radar of the NFL and it might show the NFL he's not toxic in that environment.

That would likely be a last ditch, can't find a landing spot, don't want to play non-P4 ball in college option.

I am not sure that they do. I am wondering if he has a landed spot at this point.

UNC might be his best bet from what I am reading.

Oh if he lands at San Diego State or similar I want this thread right here. We’ll likely know next week. Still betting UCLA.

If he lands at San Diego State, he won't be getting $ 2 Mil per year. However, it might be better for his development since he won't be playing SEC (or even B1G in case of UCLA) defenses.

Nico has been a good kid. The rest of the baggage with him is the problem.

Has he though?

There's been reports of him skipping out on autographs and NIL events and that sort of thing.

Doesn't sound like a good kid to me.

Nothing good about him. All he sees is green.

The consensus I a hearing from the "connected" crowd is that personality wise he is very pleasant but reserved. It made it harder for him to connect with other players because he is the type of person who just doesn't react strongly to anything, so you never really know if you are pissing him off or he is happy. He was respectful to staff.

The other side of this is that his father pretty much calls all the shots. I wouldn't be surprised if he was telling Nico to stay out of everything unless absolutely necessary.

You can easily make the connection that he is reserved because his dad just tells him exactly what to do at all times.

I doubt tOSU was impressed with what they saw when they played us. Besides, the Buckeyes aren't desperate for a QB. They can take their pick of all the best QBs out there without having to fork over $4mil.

Deon Sanders stated he is not interested players who want NIL money. He wants players who are driven by the potential of an NFL career.

Belichick might not like prima donnas, but he's in a very unusual situation. Coaching college for the first time, I'm sure that gives him extra incentive to succeed. He has no loyalty to the players at UNC, yet, since he didn't recruit them and hasn't known them very long. And they don't have a star QB. He might jump at the chance to take Nico.

But I suspect Nico's gotta be homesick. He wants to get back to Cali. I don't see him blossoming in Indiana or Lubbock, Texas. And NC is even further from home, though truth be told, he'd probably enjoy the UNC campus much more than he did UT. I think he'll wind up at UCLA.
Been reading the OSU sites and they're definitely not interested as they have 3 very promising-talented young QBs on their roster and don't want to chance chasing any of them off. And - as you mentioned - [probably wasn't too impressed by Nico in the Playoffs

Belichick will eat him and his fat f*** father for breakfast. Either that, or they'll drive Bill back to the NFL with their antics

I think they will have to eat humble pie no matter where they go because they are getting a lot of flak in the media. Then again, who knows, perhaps they have a legit option.

Texas Tech seems to be very willing to open their purse right now.

Even if they eat "humble pie," they'll be back to their antics once the season starts... UNC fans are hilarious, though, acting like Belichick is a miracle worker who will reign Nico in the way he "reigned in" the likes of Randy Moss, etc.

Maybe someone would be willing to catch me up. Does anyone know Nico's prospects for getting the same NIL much less more?

Seems like he may have burned the wrong bridges.

UNC might be a good fit in that it won't get the same level of attention. UNC is a Basketball First school like UK. Their fans somewhat care about football but they are really about Jan-March.

If your Nico, you probably want to go to a lower profile setting right now.

I don’t think the market was what they thought it would be

The kid's a robot with poorly programmed learning logic.

I don’t have X, so I can’t really fact check. I keep reading that Sanders has made a comment or post saying we’re all set, we’re good or something along those lines. Basically saying nah we don’t want him at Colorado. He may legit end up in the worst possible situation and he has his daddy to thank for that as well as himself for not manning up.

I was originally thinking USC, UCLA, or Oregon. But knowing now that Lanning was the one who reached out to us to let us know Nico was asking around I don’t think they’d take him in. The stories that are coming out seemingly every few hours are hurting his chances to land at a program of our caliber

Well once we showed him the door that 4 million negotiating price changed. 4 mil was yesterday’s price and once your keeper shows you the door then the market resets. Now whoever does bid for his service can low ball to open it up.

Not to mention we told the entire country he ain’t worth all that.

How about a free scholarship?
