The DSM5 confirms your diagnosis. “Extreme prolixity combined with incel tendencies are often found among…”Quite frankly, I've diagnosed him with Logorrea. Slight difference from Verborrea.
Logorrhea is a communication disorder that involves excessive, often incoherent, and uncontrollable talking or wordiness. It can be a symptom of aphasia or brain injury, and is sometimes classified as a mental illness.
You also forgot 2 of those players are AllAmericans.Believe need for speed was addressed in recruiting, height not so much.
Listen I get it. Unless we’re secretly in on Smith, Olkot or similar, we are all in on small ball. Whether that’s by choice or bc we didn’t get looks fm bigs and shooters, it’s how we appear to be rolling. Sure will be interesting to see if that helps us crack the top of the SEC, esp as tho top teams have loaded the eff up w size and scoring.
Regarding UConn, you forgot 6’5” El Alfey and 6’3” Ice Brady. Even when they go smallish, they play a super efficient, flowing offense with superstar offensive players that compensates for lack of size. They don’t have to mad scramble to create extra possessions to make up for inefficiency.
And yes I know we beat them. Maybe that win justifies going all in on what we’re already doing instead of tweaking it. We’ll see.
I think some posters are making this FAR more complicated than it need be. CKC said herself that she wants to find 10 more points a game. She is a VERY stat driven coach. Probably the most stat driven coach around. So, she is literally looking for 10 more points through the portal and through changes other things. It doesn't matter whether those 10 points come from a shorter player, a 3 point shooter, or a banging post player. as much as i loved tess, darby, jill, and avery- there is no question we will have players next year that fit better in what we are trying to do.
do we need post players right now? yes but there is zero reason to believe THIS STAFF won't land players we need in the system. chilllllllll lol
yeah i had the same thought about how much less worried i am than last year or the many years before that. she has brought a sense of stability to recruiting that has not existed in a min. plus, our assistant coaches are top notch recruiters for this moment. we may strike out on some players, and that may still suck, but that's life.Truly, im not nearly as anxious about who we land this season. Last season the cupboard was bare and we HAD to land some big impact kids.
With our returning core and incoming freshman there is way less pressure. We need role players who will defend, rebound, are fast and can score in transition. I do feel we need one serviceable center. Can’t put all our eggs in the Zee basket.

I don't want to stroll too far off the subject, but, did you just throw that out there as food for thought? Or, do you seriously think she - Lauren Hurst - will not be on the team? Or, do you think she is simply not good enough, or at least not yet? Or, are you expecting that she will have one foot and half her mind on each court - Basketball and Volleyball?Regarding height of incoming freshman, Civil listed as 6’0”” and Prawl 6’1. Hurst, who’s unlikely to play, is listed as 6’2. We know about the twins. Wonder why that poster fudged everyone by an inch?
Fact remains we will have only four players taller than 6 ft and only 2 taller than 6’2”, one of them Hurst. The smallest LV team in my memory
But I already said apparently size doesn’t matter. Let’s roll.
that's a fair point point. i don't see that being a big problem though. the system, if ran as intended, minimizes the height factor and maximizes the speed factor. shorter players are better for run and gun bball but yeah we need a post player when in half court. maybe it's impossible to quantify, but i think having a few players on rotation last year who weren't fast meant we had more half-court basketball than we will next season. i guess we could look at the number of possessions stat after next season and that stat may show the difference. The ideal goal is to look for players who can add ten points while helping to save ten points when playing against tall teams
exxxxactly and it's been a long time since TN had to be worried about not recruiting OVER it's current players. we have a solid dedicated group next year.Yes, right now we may be striking out on some of the better ones because we DID recruit and retain well last year and this year.
Previous seasons we HAD to land a star in the portal or we were very obviously cooked. No HS recruits and graduating veterans made for a scary portal season every year.
Wouldn’t we need an extra 50 to 60 points though with the players you bring in? When you factor in the players points per game that graduated and left that is somewhere between 40 to 50 points plus the extra 10 that she wants. I get the returners could add some points to their average. Maybe across the board all returners up their averages on their points per game 3 more than what they did this year then that would be 15 points to where we need to be. So you are needing the freshman, Kaiya, and then maybe like two transfers to average around 4.5 to 5.5 each. However, we aren’t going to play all 13 enough minutes to average that amount of points. Kaniya, Alyssa, and Jill didn’t average that amount with all of their minutes this year.I think some posters are making this FAR more complicated than it need be. No judgement on her bball skills at all. But the notion that she’ll play both makes me not consider her seriously in bball. Was there ever a system less suited to a part time player?I don't want to stroll too far off the subject, but, did you just throw that out there as food for thought? Perhaps I'm alone in this theory but I believe she will play, and play a lot, and probably as much proportionally as any of the freshmen. I believe that, as Brandon Clay opined: once she's put into a daily college basketball routine, she is a high ceiling player. So, if you (or any of you) are seeing something lacking about her game, please tell me what I'm missing. She obviously has great length; she can shoot on the move, and while moving/dribbling in both directions. If she's slow, I haven't noticed. The stated length puts her at a multi-position advantage on both ends, which could also add minutes.
To be clear: you are not the only one who has at least hinted that she will be disinterested, preoccupied, undecided/uncommitted, whatever. But, she's been watching, and, she surely understands the impending challenges. She loves Volley Ball. She also appears sincere in her desire to be a Lady Vol Basketballer.
If I'm misreading or misrepresenting you, I apologize.
Cheers.
yeah i said CKC would need to find points through the portal and through changing other things. (although i had a typo and it should have said "changing" not "changes") i have zero worry that the incoming freshman and our returning group can't compensate for the offensive production of tess, sarah, jill, and avery. my two cents only. the sky is just not falling over here.Wouldn’t we need an extra 50 to 60 points though with the players you bring in? Height is great but wingspan means more IMO. A tall girl with short arms for her body size/type is a negative. ZZ on the men's team was 5'9" but had wingspan of 6' that's why he was one of the best defenders in SEC and got so many steals. I would say Cooper has above average long quick arms she made so many quick steals off guard dribbles. There is more to than putting tape up and saying yeah, we filled that 6'4" gap and added a 6' 3" well if their slow like Oldacre they would sit on the bench, she scored 0 points and 2 rebounds in 2 games vs UT. If we cannot get a big that can run the court, I'd pass. I'm like you roll with the size we have unless a 6'2" or > that can run and defend for 94 feet is there for the taking. No lumbering bigs we had that to a degree this year.Regarding height of incoming freshman, Civil listed as 6’0”” and Prawl 6’1. Hurst, who’s unlikely to play, is listed as 6’2.
