2025 Transfer Portal

Easy for you guys to spend other people's $$. Anti-up a cool $1M and we'll get whomever you want. We'll get who our coaches get and we'll win with them. Get on board or Jump ship. Standing on the edge and bitching isn't doing anybody any good
Had you read, you’d know I did not “bitch”. I didn’t complain about not getting anyone. So your reply was irrelevant. I commented on people making inaccurate post about overpaying which is not anything you addressed.

You absolutely do not know that they have more for WBB at this moment than TCU. Everyone can see that something is going on with the NIL at TCU WBB, and all it takes is to have a couple of Billionaires on your side even if a school doesn't have overall enormous fan base. With all of UT's fantastic fan base, there are not considered to be on the very top of the NIL heap for any of them. They do well enough and get plenty of very good players with great potential, but they don't tend to get the top 5 recruits in any sport unless you want to count baseball.
Texas schools have oil wells full of money. Texas is the wealthiest school in America.

I would like Nya Robertson she could help fill the role that Sam Spencer left.... still need a 3 pt specialist to offset loss of Spear/Tess... could be a Kneepkens or Todd... then another big to replace Jill, and pair with Zee, and Lyss.. ideally Serah Williams...

I would love to land 3 portal players in those three types..
- a pace setter on offense who can score decent at all 3 levels (Nya Robertson / Kyomi McMiller)
- 3 pt specialist - (Kneepkens / Todd)
- Big with mid range game / rebounder. (Williams / Sa'Myah Smith / Madina Okot)

landing 1 of each of those with this freshman class and we can be competitive in the SEC.

As I said earlier today, this is the risk of being too aggressive the portal. UCLA is losing their entire highly rated freshman recruiting class. I absolutely agree we need some post help in the portal but I'm fine with our staff being picky. I know it's rare to keep a large recruiting class together these days, but I would be sad to lose our incoming freshmen after a year.

I'd also add I think we were a finalist for Socka-Ngueman (under Kellie). I think she might still be a bit of a project but she's a 6'3" forward.

Dudley, Cain, and Socka-Nguemen were all Top 30 recruits.
Dudley and Socka-Nguemen were McDonald's All Americans and Socka-Nguemen did indeed have an offer from Tennessee. None got the playing time they were expecting this year. Socka-Nguemen had a pre-season injury, missed the early part of the season, and only played in 16 games for a total of 82 minutes the entire season.

We are not getting Okot either . Rumors are she’s heading to South Carolina Or Kentucky. So yup don’t know what this staff is doing
Well that’s not good and Williams is most likely going to UConn. We need two bigs ourselves. Who is left after those are off the board

He couldn’t possibly know that information. He must have been using hyperbole.
Hyperbole? Isn't that the name of that clever new mind reading device you find in the bottom of the Cracker Jack box?
And some onamatopeia thrown in for good measure.
Is that an example of pentasyllabicity, or maybe hexasyllabicity? Both can shoot from the perimeter, I've heard.

You are spot on! This is exactly what I was thinking AND this is still very, verry attainable (for the folks who are freaking out).

Aarnisalo started early in the year when Kiki was injured and got minutes throughout the season.

Favor still has eligibility, she didn’t count anyways

She did count against our roster spots. Means we can pick up one more player.

I think we start getting some news soon. That may have been a wait and see decision based on how many we could add.

I enjoyed Favor as a lady vol, she had great energy and a high motor. Wish she had gotten a few more opportunities. Not sure what the staff saw in practice that held her back as much as they did.

If she returned to UT she would have counted as a roster spot. Most were not aware she was going to have one more year of eligibility. She was granted the extra year because she was originally a juco player.

The ruling states that they still count against your roster spots. When Raoul made the graphic you shared it was not granted yet.

When favor was signed last season she was signed under the premise she would only be here for a year. Which is why I presume she was likely asked to seek play elsewhere because we were counting on filling that spot with someone more competitive at an SEC level.

Thank you for clarifying this with everyone!
