2025 Transfer Portal

Just me or does Yo just trade off mids for mids every year? Good players but unlikely to move the needle much? Yo is in a Kellie-esque phase, stuck in place. Not a bad place but not the place.

Maybe its just bc im not familiar with them. Any of Yo's gets so far better than I think?

Disregard all this if she lands Cote. Takes her up a notch.

If it not by may 1
Then when is deline to transfer to a new university.
Besides graduate players or
Fired or retiring coaches exceptions .
And be eligible to play 2025-2026 season.
There is no deadline. Players in the portal can be recruited/contacted until they sign a financial aid agreement with a new school. That can go all the way up to the first day of classes in the fall.

Anyone that claims to be an insider or source of WBB recruiting/NIL on this forum and speaking as if Ole Miss is signing or outbidding several other teams for these players due to an invest of NIL funds (players that some of which not many competitive Power-4 schools) pursued heavily can’t be taken serious.
Ole Miss really don’t seem to have a plan to the portal, it seems they are signing players that might have a little notoriety or success at small schools or were role players on solid teams that show interest. But most play the same positions.
Just because a coach is animated about any and every player they sign from the transfer portal (and I do believe the players deserve acknowledgment), however that doesn’t make it a big signing.
Schools that are the best at recruiting right now in the SEC Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, LSU etc. don’t have to build up the excitement for every signing.
You handle business the right way and it’ll take care of itself.
Some people are mistakenly taking Coach Lazo, Coach Tubner, and Coach Caldwell calmness and business like approach to the portal the wrong way.
Trust me, it’s coming.
GBO!

Thanks for your input. I think I'll continue to take DPs word on things.

Even if he's completely full of sh@t he's a way better troll.

Weird stalk ish vibes.. keep in mind a poster I never engage in dialogue with who talks as if the forum revolves around their keyboard.

GBO! Vol fans I dropped the scoop above👆.

These sources are really not sources. Ole Miss is signing players they need but not moving the needle.

I don’t think Tennessee is in strong pursuit of McMiller or McMahon but that doesn’t prevent contact from either side.

Visits are lined up, the best announcements is when the players and current players post the pics and videos.

Somebody there is also spending on softball. I know the offer they gave to flip a softball recruit and it is a fairly big number.

not sure if we need to look at McMiller as we’re already a guard heavy team. she’s a good player, just has a dad who’s too involved and idk if he will ever relinquish those duties. would love to see a post commit to us soon. we need a good one.

I didn't say that Ole Miss was outbidding Tennessee or anyone else. The question was asked if Ole Miss really had the funds to be competitive. The answer to that question is yes. That's all.

Coach Yo is popular with many players. She will sign players because they connect with her. She will lose other players because she does not. When she connects with players, she's been assured that they will have to money to make the signing. I agree that she has made some curious takes in the portal.

I certainly wouldn't trade any coach on Tennessee's staff for any coach on theirs. UT has the edge in every possible way.

You was right about Marta
Not going to Missouri.
These schools seem kind of high faluting for the player Marta is. I was never a big fan of her play.
Lol maybe ND is looking at some players they wouldn't ordinarily take. They need bodies.

No problem I agree no we shouldn't.
I mean I understand the morale victories about if kids are offering quite a bit of money then Tennessee does not need waste their time, but come on... Look at TCU and Ole Miss, they outbidding us right now. Were not going to get Latson, Williams, or Kneepkens if we keep having this mindset. If Tennessee can not give a good college player $300,000 then were in trouble because I know Tennessee has a lot more money in NIL then TCU and Ole Miss.

Totally agree. Fit matters, and retaining our core was important. You need to be willing to spend though, and we may not agree Cotie worth $300K but we don't set the value of players. The market does.

I don't think she was the number one choice, two, or three more like five or six. I'd much rather have Okot and Williams, Kneepkens, and Latson. Those four with our returnees and freshmen put them to shame and we'll be right there with the best rosters in the country.
