2025 Transfer Portal

Thanks volfan2012
actually We may have some spots open sooner than that for a transfer portal pick up for next year.

Was trying to not make it about any specific player.
Tennessee graduation ceremonies
Set for may 15-17
So any transfer sign now wouldn't be to far behind in their classes .
Tennessee and other university's probably got people help finished courses since they miss class during the season.

University of Tennessee graduation link
Was short and easy to post manually

The university does not host a summer commencement ceremony. Undergraduates who complete their degree requirements in the summer typically have the option to attend spring or fall ceremonies. From Tennessee commencement.utk.edu/

I thought they was classes going on during the summer.
If they would hold transfer portal starting date to after the national championship game.
That would keep players from getting too far behind in their classes.
Or aleast let all transferring students stay in there old school talking classes until national championship. Weekend.

Most transfers will complete a semester where they are now. It might be a little different ending date than Tennessee. If they sign with Tennessee they do not necessarily have to be here on the sixteenth they can come later. Usually Coaches want all players at their school by a certain date to begin summer practice. The freshmen might be the only ones here on June 16th as transfers may need to stay at other school a little longer to finish a semester or they may be through with it and just want to report at a later date. That would be between them and the coach as to when they would want them here. Looks like totally expecting freshmen on June 16th. They will all be graduated high school by then. Probably most of them had the credit to graduate months ago just waiting to go through their ceremony.

Mostly I was wondering about graduating players and transferring portal players and in over lap for available scholarships.
Cassidy Rowe situation shows you can not switch university in a middle of course in some courses.
They should not be any new freshman starting at a university that Tennessee sign a new player out of the transfer portal for next year.
Like your are saying any player Tennessee signs more than likely would have June 12 to finished their courses at their previous university.

Cassidy Rowe, a junior guard at Kentucky Women's Basketball, announced on Instagram that she will not be playing her senior season123. She will not be using her final year of college eligibility and will not be transferring from UK3. She is not going to leave Kentucky will just go to school and not play basketball.

I think what she could've done is got in the portal still finished out the semester there and then picked up at a new school in June. She is not leaving does not want to leave even if it means no more basketball.

Brooks must be thinking of signing about 6 or more out of the portal. He only has seven on scholarship 8 to give strange situation with him and her with all those scholarships to give.

I watch the whole video I posted on Cassidy Rowe.
I think it said she could transfer and take classes at a new school.
But she would have to wait year because physical therapy sign up for this year is past.
So she would have to wait a year to finished at Kentucky or start a new university for physical therap.
I'm going to back to the video a watch to it gets to that part and make sure.
Let you know when I finished rewatching.
Which I'm going to rewatch now.
Or it isn't the video I read the article I posted with it.

Watch from 8:00 to 14:00
First you hear a little bit from Cassidy Rowe
Then you hear from her father explain about her School situation about not being able to transfer in her physical therapy courses.
If watch that six minutes you see why allot of blue nation is piss off.

Just finally say old Kenny may wish he never did this before it is all over.

The graduation date is not relevant to the conversation. Scholarships are for one year, from the beginning of summer semester to the end of spring semester, no matter what those dates are for the individual school.

When a player enters the transfer portal, their scholarship does not end immediately at their old school, they finish classes at that school through the end of the current semester. They go on scholarship at their new school at the beginning of the next semester or academic year.

When a player ends their eligibility, they remain on scholarship if they have not completed their classes for graduation. That scholarship does not count against the limit for their sport any longer.

There is no overlap. The current scholarships for graduating and transfer players go through the end of the spring semester. The new scholarships for next year‘s roster become available with the start of summer semester. There is no overlap.

Yes and if listed past the 14:00 mark you hear about Cassidy Rowe signing autographs for fans especially when they were young fans.
Even if leaving and run into the fans.
Local players who take time to spend time with fans are special in a fans base hearts.
Could not pick a worser player pull a scholarship for next season with all those available.

I believe she is in a graduate program for Physical Therapy, so if she transferred she would more than likely have to delay her education to play basketball. That’s what I read somewhere anyhow.

That’s why it was so screwy what the coaching staff did. She’s a player that suffered two knee injuries playing for Kentucky and is basically medically retired. Instead of letting her finish her scholarship, get her professional degree and be a wildcat for life; they yanked her scholarship. Now she’s on the hook for her educational costs, can’t transfer and has her final year of eligibility essentially taken from her.

That's exactly what her father said your first paragraph matches up with what her father said in that interview he done.

If she hadn't turn two knees at university of Kentucky they would have kept her on scholarship.
Yes I had seen in videos about her knees.
There isn't a good way to spin this to make Kenny B.
Look good in wildcat nation.
Her production drop because of injury's at Kentucky.
In video fair or foul tells Cassidy Rowe was better player before her knee injury's.

That’s right. As hard as some folks are trying to make it “only business and nothing personal,” college athletics still needs a few kids like Cassidy and, yes, our Edie to remind itself that loyalty and heart still has a place in it.

Just from the few sources that are available looks like some of the transfers were after are:

Williams
Latson
Todd
McMahon
Kneepkens

That is the only five names I have heard. Ones I would like to see us add are

Okot
Dunn
Cunningham
Garzon
Weimar

This ten includes the best shooters. scorers, and post in the portal. Anyone of the post players and any of the other two post or perimeter would make our team a lot better.

This thread is a bit of a beast to sift through, anything interesting happen in the past week?
Only thing any good for Tennessee was the T'yanna Todd visit and the building rumor that Latson is going to visit after the dead period. Otherwise not to much just some minior commits none of the players listed as the top ten have committed anywhere yet.
