We will try and sign 2 wing shooters IMO. If we can’t sign the two we want I wouldn’t mind getting a perimeter specialist from lower level school vs leaving a scholarship open. Can never have enough shooters.

I haven't see video of Lamar Wilkerson but his stats look good on paper.

What would be the pieces that compliment his style of play? You seem to know what he needs

Florida’s non conference schedule wasn’t good. They also got UGA and USC as home and homes. That’s why our resume was very competitive with theirs.

I lived much longer. 😀. This Florida team wouldn’t even compete with Billy Donovan’s Florida championship teams in 2006 and 2007. They had it all and a sharp shooter from Maryville, TN.

Yes on Clayton. I don’t think Broome’s current game translates to the NBA. He’s certainly doesn’t have the size and athleticism to be an NBA 5. Doesn’t have the foot speed nor handles to be a 4. Seems like his body wouldn’t handle a 80+ game schedule. Been a fantastic college player, but I think he’s a bust at the next level. JMO

Exactly and Duke will beat them on Monday. Florida is not setup well for next year. Don’t have any top portal guys lined up.

2024 UConn was absolutely better than this Florida team, FWIW. By the eye test, KenPom, Torvik, you name it. I still am not sure how that team actually lost 3 games, but they flat out dominated every team they played in the month of March, minus like 1 game in that stretch. Finished the year on a 13-game winning streak, and all but 2 of those were by 13+ points. Beat every team they played in the NCAA Tournament by at least 14 points, which included Illinois, Bama, and Purdue.

Anyway, I hope the Vols land Carey this weekend or sometime soon. Think he would be a really nice change of pace type of post player for us that we really missed this season. Go add a couple legit shooters and a wing, and we're cooking with gas.

Agree. Broome is a below the basket big man. That rarely translates to the NBA. Reminds me a lot of Armando Bacot and he’s stuck in the G League.

...are you suggesting he is so good he doesn't need complementary pieces?

What's wrong with saying it isn't fair to compare him to some of the best players we have had the last decade? I hope he ends up in the same category.

And what does he need? The same thing everyone else in this thread following the transfer portal knows he needs.

Baylor had a really good athletic team. Zaga was good but I wouldn't say better than Florida.

This Florida team is huge, can shoot and physical. They remind me a lot of uconn

That Zags team has 7 players currently playing in the NBA right now. I don't think this Florida team will be able to claim that at any given time.
