President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Agreed .... but that is not a defense for this.
Oh I’ve already said someone should be fired for this. Pete definitely wont but needs to tread a lot more carefully in the future. Whoever added Goldberg is an issue. The way this administration and the previous administration has handled sensitive information is concerning as well.

Why? We've had large scale bomb drops for 30 years which were basically told to the public through news media way in advance. This wasn't even done like that on purpose.

That's not ownership. Who made the mistake? How did it happen? What are the consequences for those involved? What will be done to prevent a similar mistake?

Obviously just tell Fox news first so they can get their cameras rolling. In the future, you don't make a mistake you do it like the Bushes did, you tell everyone.

(for the record, not how I would do things)

Marco Rubio has already called it a big mistake .... and the national security team had nothing to gain by allowing Jeffrey Goldberg on that Signal chat. The information supplied on that chat was accurate to how the strike in Yemen was conducted.

You are another unconditional defender of Trump, who is desperately grasping for straws.
I am by no means an unconditional defender of Trump. But I will GLADY own the label of a 100 unconditional adversary of today’s democrat party and everything they stand for.

I think my homie Winston Churchill stated my general outlook the best

What does it matter to you? President stated a mistake happened, that’s all you need to know. Sounds as though there won’t be any consequences but not forgotten so make everything clean moving forward.

There is never any accountability from the Trump administration for a mistake. There wasn't any during the first term either. They just double down on their weak defense, and repeat the mistake later.

You can have other both ways. You can have a GOP POTUS who is strong on immigration and wants to cut waste, but who also hires competent, experienced people, not just kiss ass supporters.

I have vote mostly Republican ever since my first vote for Reagan in 1984 (I did vote for Clinton twice BTW). But with the exception of the Gipper; every other Republican president was a spineless establishment swamp lizard who said all of the right things but actually stood for nothing. Trump, for all his faults, actually DOES something. And in regards to his hires, they are light years ahead of the clown school diversity checkbox officials Biden appointed. Still waiting on a Trump employee shaving his head, wearing a dress, and stealing women’s luggage from the airport 🙄

I mean if I’m a POS terrorist I’m going to put as many civilians as possible near me when that bomb drops and be as far as possible.

And also this is some major foreign power or anything but it’s about just having best practices. All involved should understand the microscope they’re under.

Dumbazz

FBI doing their job is political weaponization when the dems aren’t in charge according to them apparently.

How many times do I have to say this?

You can't retroactively declassify information. It does not matter what they say now. The information that Pete Hegseth disclosed on the Signal group chat was classified at the time he revealed it on March 11th .... and of course, it would be classified info. It discussed a pending military operation in details.

Hegseth could have declassified it at the time, if he had announced to the group either before or during the chat that his information was unclassified, but he didn't do that. It's a good thing he didn't do that too, because then Goldberg would have been at liberty to put it in the internet for the whole world to see.

There is no defense for this. Pete Hegseth disclosed classified information on an unauthorized mobile app to someone without the necessary security clearance to receive it. PERIOD.
Apparently all Hegseth communications are clasdified until he first personally tells BB85 to the contrary. BB85, can Pete contact you on Signal?

Can't you just see the White House situation room after word of the leak broke? :

Marco Rubio : "This looks bad."

Stephen Miller : "Nah ... We'll just say whatever information was disclosed wasn't classified."

Marco Rubio : "But it concerned the time and sequence of a military strike, which hadn't started yet?"

Pete Hegseth : "Doesn't matter. The MAGA base will swallow whatever we tell them as long as we play what-about-ism over Biden, and blame the mainstream media for blowing it out of proportion."

Marco Rubio : "What about people outside of MAGA?"

Pete Hegseth : "Fox News will help sell our defense to moderate Republicans and Independents. Who cares what the Democrats think? They already hate us, anyway, and we control both chambers of Congress. We don't need 'em."
