President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

I would say you are an unconditional defender of Donald Trump. There is nothing he or his administration could do, that you wouldn't defend. You are one of the "I could shoot somebody in the middle of 5th Avenue" people that Trump was talking about back in 2015.

.... and there will be an Inspector General probe of this breach. That is per Republican Senator Roger Wicker.

But you are even wrong on that, I have said where the problems are and even my opinion on the matter which is not directly in line. But at the end of the day, most of this is their call. You made factual claims, all I have done is asked you where you came up with the facts.

.... and there will be an Inspector General probe of this breach. That is per Republican Senator Roger Wicker.

What does that have to do with anything? Or what I said?

How about: Unlike the previous administration, we demand competence and discretion, and those that fail to live up to either will face consequences. The days of zero accountability ended when Biden left office.
Exactly .....

She is basically just telling us that their misconduct is okay, because the Biden administration did things like this too. That is so weak.

Judging by how the conversation stalled out, I am guessing this scandal landed with a thud. I know there are calls for people to lose their positions over this, but is anyone hearing it's a consideration from the administration?
No, and likely won’t be. I’m guessing they’re operating from a standpoint of no harm, no foul…and maybe a couple of people got an @$$ chewing from Trump, hopefully.

You said that the half-life on this was going to be less than Elon Musk is a Nazi. I'm saying that is wrong, because at the very least, there will be an Inspector General probe of this Signal chat breach. Can you not even remember what you posted 15 minutes ago?

By next week, you'll be crying that they shipped Venezuelans on a plane and didn't even post it on signal first.

I already have. You could just read through the thread. A lot of the MAGA crowd likes to say that I repeat myself constantly but posts like the one above is why I do it. I am constantly asked questions that have already been answered.

Hegseth mishandled classified information. That's correct. I'm not reposting things that you can find by looking back through the damn thread.
Hegseth is on the record verifying that no classified information was involved. So just want to verify if you are claiming he is lying.

That is the thing, he can't lie as he is the classification authority. President Trump could come in and retro it but that is about it unless someone has something else????? I'm all ears, I can't come up with anything.

Can Congress or an Inspector General say it should have been classified, sure, but that is just their opinion on war matters... those opinions really don't have any weight as to classification, not really.

Nope. But you have the opportunity to move away from any strategic location. You can make the assumption that the Americans know where you are at the present.
Yeah it's a good poin. It's not like there are thousands of locations. I'm sure it's a limited force with a limited number of hot targets and they would know which ones we would consider hot.

How many times do I have to say this?

You can't retroactively declassify information. It does not matter what they say now. The information that Pete Hegseth disclosed on the Signal group chat was classified at the time he revealed it on March 11th .... and of course, it would be classified info. It discussed a pending military operation in details.

Hegseth could have declassified it at the time, if he had announced to the group either before or during the chat that his information was unclassified, but he didn't do that. It's a good thing he didn't do that too, because then Goldberg would have been at liberty to put it in the internet for the whole world to see.

There is no defense for this. Pete Hegseth disclosed classified information on an unauthorized mobile app to someone without the necessary security clearance to receive it. PERIOD.

How could he be lying if he is the classification authority? If he says its confidential its confidential, if he says its secret it secret, if he says its top secret its top secret... if he says its unclass its unclass.
I'm not answering that again .....

Okay, one more time, I will. You can't retroactively declassify information from its public disclosure. You are desperately trying to apply a post-facto defense. That won't fly. This is common sense, or at least it should be for an adult.

One thing Golberg and all the Trump haters hyperventilating over this need to remember , the history of warfare is replete with militaries finding a gullible reporter and „leaking“ erroneous plans in order to fool the enemy.
See the Gulf war when the Pentagon led the media to believe we would attack Iraq through Kuwait; causing Sadam to have all of his troops in the wrong place 🤔

Phd student Rumeysa Ozturk here on a valid visa snatched up by ICE, habeus corpus suspended, presumably because she wrote an OpEd about genocide being bad.

Where are all the fakeass free speech warriors today?

Believe they are covering students wearing mask at protest events on campus last I saw.

The app wasn‘t unauthorized by the way. It’s use was specifically authorized by,,,,,checks notes……one Joseph Biden 😂

They declassify things all the time, not sure what you are talking about. This is typical how the public is brief or in news conferences even.

The information that Pete Hegseth disclosed on the Signal group chat was classified at the time he revealed it on March 11th .... and of course, it would be classified info.

And he is claiming its wasn't classified i.e. his determination he is the classification authority.

Yes. Which is what Goldberg thought was happening. He didn't realize it was real until the bombs dropped.

Maybe. Optics of it are pretty terrible in this case.

Same question they couldn’t adequately answer regarding Trump and his „classified“ papers either 😂

There is one hiccup, and one would have to get into the details. If the information was originally owned by another agency than there other steps. In this case, he was the owner of the information.

And he is claiming its wasn't classified i.e. his determination.

So someone in the admin can say whatever he wants, whenever he wants, to whomever he wants and say that it wasn't classified once it's made public?

That seems like an ineffective system of classificiation.

Marco Rubio has already called it a big mistake .... and the national security team had nothing to gain by allowing Jeffrey Goldberg on that Signal chat. The information supplied on that chat was accurate to how the strike in Yemen was conducted.

You are another unconditional defender of Trump, who is desperately grasping for straws.
