Funny how I do not remember it was that close. Just seemed like a butt whippen in both games.

I hear you, that's how it felt. Probably becaues most of the second half in Knoxville they were in control and we made a run near the end. And because the opposite in Lexington, we kept it close then fell apart at the end.

I think we overall did better than it felt like.

Seems like both teams have been bi polar this year. Some impressive wins and some inexplainable losses. Seems like a wash in terms of who we play

Illinois can go ice cold from 3 so I’m going with them.
But they could also follow the Ole Miss blueprint, which I am not positive Kentucky can. Maybe Oweh could do what Brakefield did, which is a concern with UK. If Ut defends against like they did last night , neither team has a chance.

You’re right on the general timeframe. If it’s us vs Kentucky, I think that would be the late one. But it will be 2 good games so tough call.
I also think if it’s us and UK, we will get the late tip time - no different than when we played last night.

Edit: We were wrong, we have the early game.

Rational me says Illinois.

The fan in me wants to send a hated rival back home with their tails between their legs.

Bring me the kitties.

Kentucky’s. Bigs are skilled and good. When we try to protect the lane, their outside players don’t miss very many threes. In addition, we have not been able to hit our threes against them. I do believe we will play them better, because Lanier is a better player now than he was when we last played them. In addition. Our defense has stepped it up in the last 2 weeks. I like our chances against either of them.

Kentucky would be the better feeling win imho. All this talk from their end of the Cats owning Tennessee again after the regular season sweep would go away like an ice cube in late July if we cut their legs out from under them in the tourney. Trust me, they'd never breathe another word about it. Also do you think one ounce of one player on this team would feel like we don't owe those f*ckers something??!! If you think we fought to get that win over Bama or that payback win over the Gators in Knoxville, there is no doubt in my mind those efforts would pale compared to another shot at KY. Our boys would be foaming at the mouth. I say bring on big blue and make them prove they can beat us again.
I could care less about a “better feeling win”. Wish we were playing Austin Peay next. JUST WIN

give me those scumbag commies from lexington.

I’ve killed women and children. I've killed everything that walks or crawls at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Pope.

First answer is Illinois as the lower seed and non-rival. However, I prefer Kentucky in this scenario.

Illinois is a slight favorite against the Cats. That Illinois game on the road was one of the toughest of the year. And I feel like Barnes versus Pope would be a big Tennessee advantage given his experience.

What do you say?
I would rather play Illinois because Indianapolis would be a home game for Kentucky.

As of now Illinois hands down. They look terrible as if they shouldn’t even had made the tournament. So far KY has matched with teams that can’t shoot a lick
