Great sweep LVs! But hated having to use Karlyn to win both. Worried about her workload and innings. It was 1-1 when Sage was pulled in the 5th. Thought maybe Erin would come in since she was throwing before game two. Maybe she was just getting work idk? Maybe Sunday Karlyn can have a day off and let the others handle it. Gotta see what they can do.

And the difference between a coach that preps a team for a playoff run and one that doesn’t. Karen Weekly never ceases to amaze. It’s difficult to understand how she would be worried about sweeping UCon because it is UCon while a coach like Gasso leaves a true freshman in that’s getting slightly beat up by South Carolina (a conference game, no doubt) in order to prepare another pitcher for the playoffs. OU may have been lucky to win that, and maybe because Landry wasn’t available, but the fact remains, Gasso was willing to take a conference loss to prepare for dividends later. It’s irksome to see Pickens having to throw more innings, especially against UCon. I could probably understand better if it were a conference game, but dadgum.

I'd like to see us play this bunch every year like in basketball. I think it could develop into a very good rivalry. UConn gave us everything we could handle in that second game. We obviously don't like each other. That animosity creates good competitiveness

They certainly can pull this off if they want. I expect Bella got a couple of games off to get Emma some game time. Bella is a great player. Does she field every ball? No. Was it really, really hard hit? Did it take a strange bounce? Did she bungle the ball as she tried to make an extraordinarily difficult play? I've personally witnessed Bella make some spectacular plays and her bat is a little better. People who said she was a top player coming out of high school were not wrong. She is a baller as are her teammates.

I think there are several combinations Karen could employ. She has an abundance of middle infielders and outfielders with more coming. I hope she leaves TayPan and Boo right where they are but she doesn't have to. I also hope TayPans NIL does better. Got to feed our studstacular players.

D-Rod is a great player and could start on many, many teams. I think one of her biggest strengths is her bat but I've also seen her make some amazing plays on defense, some of them contributing to winning a very competitive games. She has come through in some important situations.

All of softball is filled with starters who can't hit. Bella is needed for her defense. She has shown flashes of being a hitter but agree that she needs to hit better.

I don't know how much improvement is a factor (because she is really good and has been for several years) or how much her slot in the lineup has resulted in her getting better pitches. Maybe a bit of both?
