Sarah’s mom:

Feaster-Strong attended Harvard College, graduating in 1998 with a degree in Economics, and setting multiple Ivy League women's basketball records along the way. She was selected as a first-team All-Ivy League player each of her four years, and was the first athlete in any sport to be honored as Ivy League Player of the Yearthree times, after also having been Ivy League Rookie of the Year.[3]

I think she scored 33 in that game vs Stanford..

Well Rickster, some of us are genuinely just WBB fans, and with no axes to grind. I’m excited for the upcoming tournament, like a lot of other fans. I will probably watch almost all of the games, even the lower seeded ones, it’s a great time of the year to enjoy the game. Peace.

Btw, as the sport grows I find it hard to not follow all of the great players/programs across the country. I’m 63 now, no time to waste on petty stuff that would take away from the joy of watching these young women play the game, wherever they go to school.

At its summer meeting this week in Austin, Texas, the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee approved a move to quadrant-based team sheets in 2024-25 and to

These are the folks who select and seed. Outside of Northwestern, no P4 schools have a voice on this committee. It could be a good thing, I’m really not sure.

But this is an interesting change this year:

”The committee also voted to remove "conference record" and "nonconference record" from the championship selection criteria, noting that the existing criteria of "overall record" is inclusive of that information.”

This will play into the seedings big time this year unless I’m wrong. Outside of the quad changes, this is the biggest for implications on Sunday, and the source of what some will call surprises. It likely helps teams from leagues like the Ivey League, or teams from P4 that scheduled weak. Think on that one.

A 5th seed for the LVs seems about right.

I think UT will be above both Bama and OM in the 5th seeds however @madtownvol . We will see, but H2H still matters imo, and the Uconn win should carry heavy weight. Plus they showed during the season against the heavy weights they can play with anyone when it’s right for them.

This could be a team that breaks the norm from the 5 seed and goes deeper than any team previous from that slot if they can get back to their earlier form. Knocking off Uconn showed that already. It’s gonna be exciting watching.

Kinda like my golf game, when I get in a funk, sometimes it really helps to walk away for a few weeks. I don’t know how that helps me but it does. Golf is such a mind game.

Laying here this morning fantasizing about us coming out and having a good showing in the tourney. This team is more than capable. Just have to rest up, get re focused and find their mojo again.

We need to be a bit less predictable.

Case for UConn getting a #1 seed:

1- Yes they are in the Big East, a very weak conference. But it's not like they are just getting by but are beating the crap out of these teams.
2- They beat the crap out of SC, the SEC champion in their own building.
3- They lost to USC, the BIG regular season champion by 2 points
4- They are #1 in the NET standings
5- In the latest AP poll, they are still ranked third, but have received 7 first place votes.
6- Vegas has incorporated them as the favorites to win the NC. I saw that the other day, but of course, this is Vegas and it could have changed since then. I don't think so.
7- Since their last loss, Aubrey Griffin and Azzi Fudd have joined the team after rehab from injuries.
8- Everyone here thinks that ESPN is a friend of UConn, but they are not. If they were, they would have found a place for them near the top. They are heavily invested in the SEC and thus put a lot of weight on their loss to Tennessee.

So, I don't think the committee will give them aq #1, but that is why I question if the NET means anything. Just my opinion but won't loose any sleep over it.
The best #2 would be the same as the fourth #1 anyway.
