War in Ukraine

Butthurt, no? As you can see I am not happy with my government being involved in all this, but not much I could do about it. Glad the Orange man is at least pulling funding. 👍 If he can save lives, I guess that is good... but I don't see as necessary.

Nobody on this planet is going to win if America puts soldiers in the Ukraine to fight, everyone will lose.... permanently. However, obviously that doesn't seem like a concern anymore.

You can basically stick a fork in this one, Europe is now on deck (see my 2022 posts).
That will be for different reasons. Russia will sit back and watch that one.

Love it, Trump getting owned in the WH for his lies.

I don't see what he got owned about... some of what Europe has been provided was in the form of "loans", which if we believe the reports last week... the Ukraine will stop payment i.e. default on foreign loans. The U.S. did not provide a loan but what Trump is saying is we need an asset to back the money received or an investment which would provide the return.

The basic mineral agreement was first constructed last summer before the Orange man was in office (multiple links have already been provided).

Europe will probably not get any money back, Trump is trying to secure a path to get money back but this is like a 100+ year payback, if at all. Europe will try and look for an exit plan but there really isn't one. They either need to fund the corruption unproductive land mass known as the Ukraine or the Russian eventually push them all to Poland and they secure it all. I take it when he says "real money", he is just talking cash equivalent not equipment, which the U.S. has done both but not on loan agreements.

Also, iirc some of the loans are actual Russian money from the backed frozen bank accounts, but I would think we would have to get into the details of what money is what.

Parliament approves up to €35 billion loan to Ukraine backed by Russian assets | News | European Parliament

Its not likely anyone gets a real ROI here, they would be lucky to get a tiny fraction of principle. If Trump can do better than that at this stage, good on him.

It's shocking that it's simply light insults with zero evidence.
Anyway, here's some information:

That is like saying the mafia doesn't get funding because it goes to the garbage company. I think they are in beginning stages of doing an audit under this administration. We'll see.

Let me tell you a story, one of the PM's in the 90s claimed nearly a $500m claim in a forfeit action in the U.S. in which claims he obtain this off of his $10,000 annual salary. If large money laundering isn't go on, you're not in the Ukraine.... its like the national past time instead of baseball, its hide the money. That PM is still fighting for his money in the U.S., nearly 27 years after his arrest.

The U.S. taxpayer will most likely be out of luck for the most part.

Sure sounds like a loan from this and every other article about the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) Loans? Seems the main stream media was more obsessed with trying to prove Trump wrong than reporting the facts.....

"These loans will be serviced and repaid by future flows of extraordinary revenues stemming from the immobilization of Russian Sovereign Assets, in line with G7 respective legal systems and international law."

A rundown of what happened at the UN yesterday, as I mentioned last week Rubio was setting up the framework. This isn't the end of the war, its the beginning of the end. What happened, the Orange man told them what they were going to do and they did it. There are a few European countries that appear to be in denial still and they will have to be corrected, as it appears the Orange man gave them a few weeks.

The fun in the Ukraine will be winding down (although there will probably be entertainment with the Mad Jester), and the fun in Europe will be in the planning stage now. (Unlike the Ukraine, the European situation is not very predictable... hopefully nukes are not used)

Garbage man doing what the Garbage man does best... takes out the garbage. (He's a lot nicer than me, I would just let that garbage sit over there rotting and decomposing)

Wonder if Trump is gonna flip on Putin if Ukraine offers him a $500 billion deal for its minerals / oil / rare earth. If there’s one thing Donald has proven is his love of money over everything else. I mean if it’s 4D chess Donald’s playing, then all his anti-Ukraine rhetoric is just a farce to force financial concessions out of Zelenskyy.

Right?

Ukraine doesn't have any leverage. Trump can get what he wants from Ukraine regardless.

I said it from the start. Trump will flip his opinion on Ukraine in a heart beat if he can be sold on it. Call it the Trumpinstan and Trump would defend it to the last American. Replace Zelensky with Miss Ukraine and have her flirt with Trump and Putin's calls wouldn't even be answered. Trump is about image image image. Russia still looks stronger than Ukraine. Not as strong as they once did, but relatively they are still stronger than Ukraine. that is what matters to Trump. If Ukraine had retaken all of its land and pushed 100 miles in Russia he would be siding with Ukraine.

Trump is not nearly as ideological as either side wants him to be.

(I watched the first 50 minutes or so)

Some of this might be of interest, a Russian citizen who has relatives in the Ukraine, matter of fact speaks about an Uncle that just died near the front. Goes through a little history and context of the situation. Basically, he says the Russians still don't trust Trump although its a step in the right direction, they really don't trust the neocons/globalists... he speaks of eliminating them to a degree. Somewhat optimistic that maybe the situation will improve but Russians in general don't want to do all this over in 2-3 years i.e. long-term success. Actually speaks about the sanctions and how scary it was but he was like, everyone was scared than.... the sky never fell and its just got better from there. He does speak of the Baltic States possibly invading Western Ukraine but he does kind of touch on, nobody wants all those people.... very bad apples. They all seem to agree it doesn't look like Trump is concerned about a peace deal, it's an European problem. Alexander than talks about the British army and laughs at the idea of the British fighting the Russians.... as their basically isn't one.

My take Trump's job is to make the conditions for a peace settlement better which might be include taking out the Mad Jester. I would say the UN resolution is the first step, than if the Jester still doesn't cooperate than they might get a resolution for elections in the Ukraine.... if needed than Trump has the UN support to come down heavy on the Ukraine. At the same time, looks like Trump is going to continue to easy on Russia and normalize.

The best day to get a settlement done is today, same thing I said 2+ years ago. The conditions are going to get worse for the Ukraine and Europe.

He is just removing the US basically from the equation, the only thing the US can do is make the conditions for settlement better i.e. ejection of the Mad Jester. (just my take) This is all an European problem. I think Trump wants the killing to stop, the rest is on those parties to figure out.

no Trump just wants his cut. we know the Biden's got theirs, Trump just wants some of his own. its why you see Russia suddenly throwing resources at Trump too. Putin giving us aluminum wasn't out of the goodness of Putin's heart, or because it was about to spoil. its bribery.

Nobody is going to make money on those agreements, its just bait. Russia is just saying they are open for business, which is generally all they want. Bribery is what has been occurring, this is the end of the road of where the bribe fails. Most business is private parties, not the U.S. government.

That stupid mineral deal is worth about $10. Trump said he didn't know if it were worth anything and he really doesn't care.... what he is saying is do what I tell you, so we can move along. If Trump can make some money back, good at this stage but I seriously doubt it. Trump said what he wants.... an end to the war. The midget is not providing anything of value because he wants to prolong the war.

To have a serious seat at the table, the parties have to get on board... its not complex. The train is going to be moving here pretty soon I suspect, it already is.

Trump is just making the conditions for a peace deal better or making particular parties worse by not working towards that goal, there really isn't much else he can do to Russia.

Ukraine agrees US minerals deal after Washington drops toughest demands

Apparently they are now agreeing???? Its just to see if the midget is going to be someone they can work with, if not, they'll probably eject him. The US will be lucky to get anything back. Now the Europeans have to come up with something everyone can agree on, if the Orange believes the midget is the problem... he can help move that along.

What is happening is, the U.S. is giving the Ukraine the opportunity to play sovereign... the Orange man might be the ref but he probably don't care all that much other than war must end. I personally can't say I care, but he feels different and that isn't a bad thing.

The Mad Jester should have been working this for the last 3 years, now the deals will be worse as many of us said.

There are concerns to me in what they are doing, among others. We'll see how that goes with Orange, entertainment really is all it is.

Ukrainian officials said the deal had been approved by the justice, economy and foreign ministers, and held out the prospect of Zelenskyy travelling to the White House in the coming weeks for a signing ceremony with Trump.

"In an awkward moment, Zelenski initially, mistakenly and out of habit, wrote down the number for an account jointly owned by Hunter and Joe Biden, until Donald Trump corrected him and pointed to a new one with the United States government as managing owner."

"'No,' President Trump said, 'This one is above board and for the United States' interests.'"

Is this what passes for MAGA fan fiction these days?

Shortly after this, the President called for elections and calls the Mad Jester a dictator. By last Thursday the administration started the process of moving the framework in the UN, this will set the stage for when the Mad Jester remains uncooperative in ending the war.

Can't imagine why Ukraine doesn't want to surrender to Russia in order to make Trump happy.
