They were being used for migrants seeking asylum, explicitly authorized by Congress, which is not in any way a crime

If the people that made payments knew they were "illegal", that is a federal crime.... I'm not there so I don't know, I suspect they are "illegal" but I don't know that either way.

At the very least they need to be fired, and there is a good reason to believe they could be prosecuted for crimes.

If these people knew they were "illegal", you would support the prosecution of them right? The whole point of the EO was to put these people on notice that everything was under review.

And, on schedule. If there were a once in 1000 natural disaster, we call the Ghostbusters? Listen man, I live here. There are Fema buses and vehicles still here, saw one this very morning in JC.

Different administration, same thing. Funny though, Congress is in charge of Fema budget. So, gripe all you like. That was a Republican and Democrat thing.
Exactly where did I mention parties in that post? Sounds like that's your issue; not mine.

It is a GOVT problem. The biggest problem is that both parties are corrupt grifters, yet they've both carved out fan-boys and fan-girls who'd rather make excuses for their party and play whatabout-ism, which leads to a large portion of the population defending corruption and grifting at any given time.

0again its the HOW of it. They clearly aren't being transparent, despite all the claims to otherwise. that and them being part of the government, yes I was wrong about that, is enough for me not to trust or like them.
The how! The transparency! Where was all this crying the last 4 yrs. When the ignorant dementia patient was sneaking around trying every angle to forgive student loans. Or sending billions of dollars to Ukraine , half of which they can't account for. Or why most of these depts can't pass an audit. Or why the monthly jobs reports were downsized every month 2 months later. Or a bunch of unelected bureaucrats where running the country behind closed doors. You want transparency now after the fact for these past 4 yrs. I'm glad they're exposing these POS politicians that have been stealing my money and getting rich while I make ends meet. I'm not gonna bit$$ about how they're doing it, I'd much rather know how and why they did it in the first place and how to stop it from happening again.

I was here complaining about it. I was labeled MAGA many a time, by many a people. unlike most of this board, I don't change my colors when the other party takes over.

I call out the BS where I see it. previously calling out the bs was offensive to the Left so I must have been MAGA. now calling out the bs is offensive to the right, so I must be a liberal.

I believe many people frustrations mount as we hear about asylum seekers who have committed crimes still being in housing. People who would not be eligible are routinely found in this housing.

We have less and less but are asked to give more and more. We are supposed to feed and house these people indefinitely. We are only supposed to allow 675k asylum each year. Yet millions more come and very few ever leave. The indefinite aspect of their status is what bothers me most anyway.

It just isn't sustainable. For them nor us.

None of that is really the fault of FEMA employees, though; if you think too much money was allocated then that would be on Congress

If any of the money went to any non cotEn immigrants who have committed felony crimes then FeMA would be aiding felonies..and therefore legally responsible...same as those who house them...also you don't cross several countries to seek asylum..that no how that works

It is absolutely their fault if they don't follow instructions and orders. The issue isn't that Congress funded them, that is as you said a different matter.

Giving them shelter or money for shelter would not be even remotely close to "aiding felonies" haha

felonies don't mean a thing in this timeline

Give some whose committed murder shelter and and money and see if you do get charges too....

What is considered aiding and abetting illegal immigration?
Smuggling: Bringing someone into the country at a place other than a port of entry
Transporting: Moving someone within the country knowing they are an illegal immigrant
Harboring: Providing a place to stay for someone who is an illegal immigrant
Encouraging: Convincing someone to enter the country illegally
Hiring: Continuing to employ someone after learning they are not authorized to work in the country
Providing false documentation: Giving false documents to someone who is in the country illegally
What are the penalties?
The penalty for aiding and abetting illegal immigration can include up to 20 years in federal prison
Penalties can increase if the violation involved serious injury, death, or financial gain
Businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants may face fines or up to six months in prison

From what we can tell they failed to followed directions, instructions and orders which is and should be fire-able as a generalization. These people were well aware what they were doing and its possible it could include additional charges other than supporting and harboring illegals i.e. devil is in the details.

I don't know what you are crying about, yes, those people deserve to be fired at the very least.

Literally, its scary to think that people like you reproduce.

No, what I'm saying is people attitudes and frustrations are with government. Our red tape and flawed immigration policy.

Then when asked to freeze spending it was ignored. Immigration was a key factor in Trump being elected. It was across the board unpopular and losing cause for the Democrats. Meaning the majority of people didn't and don't approve.

Now we can have a different discussion on how to deal with those already here. Can't go back now, what's done is done and these are people.

Trump did this specifically to look at and stop waste and fraud, at least according to him. He directed federal employees to freeze. This one didn't comply. Not sure of the legalities here, but that's where we're at.

We have citizens who are fed up with government, feel ignored and dumped on. Can barely pay their bills...... And they are being asked to fund people to live higher on the hog than some of them do.

I'm one of them! I've worked my arse off. I can't do things for my daughter I feel I should, know she deserves. I'm just barely hanging on. We almost lost our farm last year..... we weren't prepared for new tax laws and it almost killed us. Still may.

And I start learning what tax money is actually being spent on......... And I get angry, furious is a better word.

I've said this before and I still mean it. While I could never do this personally .......being so low last year, with the walls closing in it hit me how domestic terrorists are made. Give someone no hope, take everything away from them and make them feel helpless and hopeless. Take away what they love, destroy their lives.

You can be a wonderful person, a moral person and say, I'm sorry, we are not in a position to help you right now when asked. I think that's what we need to start doing and taking care of our own for a while.
