I think Ole Miss could get them. That game is at home tho, so if it's someone besides Alabama it'll have to be Texas A &M at home.
I'd love to say Vandy pulls the hat trick ( US, KY, Auburn) at memorial gym, but I highly doubt it.

I just think the powers that be want Duke up at # 1 and Auburn will have to lose or two for that to happen.
Let's just say, they may get some questionable calls in that Ole Miss and/or Alabama game.

That and weight room. The aren't necessarily losing the points he provides them. They can make that up as a team, but where they are hurting is defense.
They don't have much defense at all, but what they do have he sets the tone for.
I think he's getting banged up because he is the only KY player trying to be physical, and it doesn't seem like he is necessarily built for it.
Our guys didn't get to the point they are today overnight. Lots of long hard hours in the gym building the strength, muscle, and stanima.

Kentucky has a long way to go if they want to become a more physical team in defense.
Look at a guy like Jaxson Robinson, a gust of wind and he'd be doing the chicken dance.🤣

I was looking at Houston’s schedule and results and I don’t understand at all how they’re ranked ahead of us in NET or kenpom. They have zero big wins OOC, just some close losses, and we know the Big12 isn’t as good as the SEC. We have the same overall record yet we’ve done considerably better in Quad 1. For some reason the metrics love them though.

The Vols have a few tough games left. 4 games on the road and none are gimmes, even Oklahoma.
Oklahoma has lost 6 SEC games, but they are still 16-6 overall and will not be a pushover.

Vols still have to contend with Ole Miss, Ky, Ala.

It's a good feeling, actually, to worry about a 1 seed vs a 2 seed for UT

I believe it’s their margin of victory more than anything, which skews the numbers. They’re also #9 and #3 in offensive/defensive efficiency on KenPom, while our offensive efficiency is only #33. I think they’re one of a handful of teams that could win the whole thing, but so are we.

Yeah, I don’t know the ins and outs of that formula. I’m sure it would be interesting to dig into. 33 is a little lower than I’d like but that’s pretty darn good. That number has been improving the last couple of games so maybe we can hit that magic top 20 that most NCs have.

Every national champ since KenPom began in 2002 has had an offense in the top 39 and a defense in the top 22. In 12 of those 22 seasons, the title team had both in the top 10. If the tournament started today, these would be the contenders:

Auburn
Houston
Duke
Tennessee
Florida
Kansas
Iowa State
Arizona
Texas A&M
Michigan St.
Illinois
Ole Miss
Marquette
St. Mary’s

As an aside, NOBODY is talking about Texas A&M. I might take them as a sleeper to make the Final Four.

Be careful. I used that logic to take Auburn into the FF last year and we see how that panned out.

FWIW, I think they could beat Auburn at home. I'd have them a little higher as far as the tournament if they hadn't lost to UCF and Oregon.
That Texas loss they had confirms to me that the neither of those out of conference games to not so great teams were necessarily flukes.
Not to mention handled pretty good by Kentucky.
Good team, but not final 4 good IMO.
Their game with Missouri tmmrw afternoon should tell us a lot more about them.

It would be fitting if Purdue won it all the year after their All-American leaves. We did it the year after Peyton, as did Cincinnati in the 60’s after Oscar Robertson graduated.

Just watched St. John’s manhandle UConn on their home floor. Down 14 early and outscored them 58-38 the rest of the way. Johnnies are #2 in defensive efficiency behind us in KenPom. Watch out for Pitino in the NCAAT.

IU fans have been delusional for years thinking Brad Stevens is just going to leave his Celtics job and run to Gloomington. it's not going to happen........I went to school with several that are related to Dusty May since he's from my area and they said he's interested but doesn't wanna spurn Michigan after one year. Chris Beard makes sense honestly, interestingly the hot name around here is our buddy Pearl.

Something apparently happened four years ago during negotiations with Stephens that pissed off his wife, which killed the talks. With the Celtics now being owned by a private equity group, which doesn’t give Brad as much influence, and their oldest child attending Notre Dame, don’t be surprised if he reconsiders.

Pearl to IU would be crazy given his story. When he came here that seemed like it would never happen but that was a very long time ago and he’s a great coach who flat out wins.

Celtics ownership group hasn't changed yet, though they are for sale.
