Is Auburn the most unlikable team in the country?

CBM is a grade A punk. Worst in the SEC since Marshall Henderson, probably.

Broome is mouthy goon, too, but backs it up.

Cardwell is the Auburn version of Admiral Schofield. I have little issue with him, in general.
I agree with all this. Marshall Henderson came to mind last night during the Mizzou game. Tamar Bates was something else. Not sure if y’all were able to see anything he did on camera, but he was disgusting.

CBP has made watching them unbearable. His constant screaming on every play as well as walking onto the court is annoying as hell.

Is Bates the one that grabbed Okpara's ankle after FO blocked his shot? This would have been the play just before Josh Gray shoved Miličić in the back and into the first row under the basket on our end.

Honestly, Mizzou played hard and tough, but they had several mouthy players, Bates and Gray included. Gray kept catching the ball under the basket on nearly every Mizzou make and doing everything but not give it to the official in an effort to disrupt our inbounding the ball. Not one time did I see him warned.

Yes, that was Bates. And yes, Gray should have been warned. Also, as the 2nd half was about to start, Tennessee broke the huddle and Bates immediately got into Lanier’s face and stayed there as Lanier was trying to walk away. Literally right in his back for probably a minute or so. Intimidation tactic I guess.

The last timeout Bates did the same thing to Mashack. He was obviously trying to provoke again.

Another time when Gainey was going to the line, I think it was Gray, walked by Gainey and stood next to him before everyone lined up. Had his hand on Gainey and was leaning into him and said something, and this was probably close to 10 seconds worth. We showed a lot of restraint to be able to keep our cool.

As I posted in another thread just now, knowing we had Dandy Don and Dougie Showtime calling the game last night, it's no surprise that crap was allowed to go on with no warning.

Barnes really is exemplary when it comes to keeping his cool with these guys, but he needs to lose his religion on one of them, rake them over the coals (by name, if necessary) in a postgame presser and take the fine, and demand some respect in his own freaking building for once. We have the 2nd most wins of any SEC team in the last 5 years, and the 2nd most in the last 10 years, and we never get a regal whistle.

Barnes was as animated as I’ve seen him last night, but they’re just going to continue to be abysmal at their jobs. Mizzou basically puts their head down and does the battering ram to the basket. Most cases they are completely out of control, yet if anyone hits the court they call a defensive foul. We did foul on a few of those, but I don’t see how SEC officials can allow the obvious offensive fouls to continue. That whole situation last night was absurd.

Bruce has the ability to stop all these antics and he chooses not too.

He just adds fuel to the fire.

He’s just as bad as his players.

These college guys, and HS boys/girls, and MS kids, and and and are all watching the garbage known as the NBA. Its so disgusting that I can't beat watching anymore. Watching a fool flex, whine, or taunt for doing their job is insufferable.
I started doing that stuff when I renew someone’s insurance. So far everyone looks at me like
I’m nuts but I’m confident it’ll catch on.

I don't really see a problem with auburn, he's making young people excited again. He's like the Trump of basketball, promoting and entertaining for engagement,, it's a show/circus which is all sports really is, the bread and circus,, people enjoy their time watching their entertainment idols and auburn is the new product on the shelf. Bruce did it here and every one of you loved seeing him jump with painted nipples at the women's game, loved watch him hype the masses for the Florida game preaching on a box to the student crowd before the game, loved watching players do Slam Dunk Contest dunks vs teams in the regular season, loved watching our felons play, but it wasn't a problem, they were OUR felons. Now hate Auburn for them enjoying that product with Christian players who are good men, but liked when at Tennessee he had a team full of felons and drug addicts running trains on sorority girls. Funny how it all works full circle

There’s always such things. Take the Basevols. We would hate it if opponents did some of those things but we love it when they do it. I don’t have any problem with any showmanship and trash talk, just back it up and don’t be a complete jerk. We’ve had those guys people love to hate. Slay was one of those guys. I would’ve hated that dude if he played for anyone else. I loved him playing for us. Now the flopping and crying you see from CBM is annoying regardless of the team. I have zero issue with Pearl though. He’s a great coach who did great things here and I’ll always appreciate that. I wouldn’t trade Barnes for him though.

1000000% agreed it's just fun and games, literally, nothing more to it. If I was a KID I'd love to play under pearl he is a goofball and fun to be around knows how to play a crowd and entertain, all good times when he was head coach. Barnes is fun too in his own way he's like Clint Eastwood of basketball

I liked Pearl while he was here but never really cared for his sideline antics. Sort of thing that's easily overlooked with success. I prefer Barnes' style much more so, and it comes without the "snake" like baggage Pearl has had his entire career

It is absurd. But it's consistent. Illinois coach talked about it at length in his presser when we played them. The basic concept is, nobody is going to call an offensive foul on you, put your head down drive until you can put up a shot at the basket.

I believe this change is all in response to the constant moaning and whining and arguing that ensued after every single game from 2 to 10 years ago over the charge / foul call. It was known to be the hardest call that a collegiate referee had to make. So, I think they cleaned it up by just getting rid of the charge altogether. I bet we haven't taken two charges this entire season, but have been called for fouls on many many.

Very true. Add to that the freedom to walk and not have it called. It’s starting to look very NBAesque.

I didn’t like his antics here either.

There’s a huge difference between being energetic and acting like a fool.

The short answer is yes. Broome is a cocky pr*** who will eventually meet a big guy who pushes him around like a rag doll when it matters most, Mazara and Cardwell are clowns who struggle when muscled around like we did to them, Bruce is a clown who teaches bs flopping and theatrics, and his son is and always will be a wannabe who will fail in all his head coaching endeavors (if he ever gets a chance). They’re a good team and there’s no doubt that Pearl is a dang good coach, but they’re an easy group to hate. Very reminiscent of some his Pearl’s teams here with the hooligans he brought here. You love them if they’re on your side but hate them beyond words if they’re your opposition.
