Is Auburn the most unlikable team in the country?

Too much like a college frat boy while in his mid 40s. I do get he was enjoying his first taste of big time success, but that actually became an issue for him

He changed here. No doubt about that. The guy who arrived here, while a bit of a clown, was ultimately hungry and relatively humble (at least as far as coaches go, a profession where most don’t know the meaning of humble). The guy who left was an entitled clown who felt he was above reproach. Great coach, but I don’t miss his antics and attitude. Some of his nut huggers will disagree, but give me Barnes every day of the week of Pearl. Results are more or less the same and Barnes doesn’t do anything to embarrass the program and brings in good men, both assistant coaches and players.

The short answer is yes. Broome is a cocky pr*** who will eventually meet a big guy who pushes him around like a rag doll when it matters most, Mazara and Cardwell are clowns who struggle when muscled around like we did to them, Bruce is a clown who teaches bs flopping and theatrics, and his son is and always will be a wannabe who will fail in all his head coaching endeavors (if he ever gets a chance). They’re a good team and there’s no doubt that Pearl is a dang good coach, but they’re an easy group to hate. Very reminiscent of some his Pearl’s teams here with the hooligans he brought here. You love them if they’re on your side but hate them beyond words if they’re your opposition.
Totally agree. My favorite Pearl teams here were the first ones where he had Buzz‘s players. They were all good guys since Buzz recruited character kids like Barnes does. Guys like Lofton, Bradshaw, ect. Once Bruce got his guys in, it was hard to pull for them. You also always had to worry about somebody flunking out or getting arrested and not getting to play. Bruce didn’t care one bit about guys’ character. We’ve got a great coach and leader now and a great bunch of kids.

1000000% agreed it's just fun and games, literally, nothing more to it. If I was a KID I'd love to play under pearl he is a goofball and fun to be around knows how to play a crowd and entertain, all good times when he was head coach. Barnes is fun too in his own way he's like Clint Eastwood of basketball
It’s not showmanship when you constantly complain to the officials and feign injuries. I can take the circus as entertainment but not the BS. CBM has plenty of history, and it’s ridiculous. Let your play speak for you. There is a difference.

Watching Auburn get handled at home is what my great grandparents had in my for their offspring when they came to America.

Auburn is gonna catch the wrong team one day with their dirty antics and the those boys gonna find out.

You didn’t enjoy starters getting pulled over with loaded guns and drugs?

Baker Bizzare is the most unlikeable player I've seen.

He thinks he's playing soccer. Flops plays dead. Whines like a little girl
Hilarious. He just flopped and Florida went down and hit a 3 while he laid under his basket. When they looked at it he ran into his own guy. Went to the locker room. He’s had all he wants.

Them and Duke were 1-2 for most hated.
Now it will reversed. I hate Duke more this year because they don't really have to play anyone tough to hold on to that #1 seed.

I would love nothing else more than to see them be a #1 seed who doesn't make it out of the first weekend.

I used to like and pull for Auburn. I‘ve been a season ticket holder since buzz Peterson days. Loved it when Pearl came and brought us back. Not going to rehash all that went down with that. My question is about this year. He has 3 of the biggest punks on his team. Watching last night against Oklahoma. Cardwell never makes a shot or blocks a shot or does anything without posing and finding the cameras and such. Broome didn’t used to act that way but now he does the same stuff. Baker-Mazarra is the worst of all. He runs his mouth constantly the entire game. Every time he gets fouled he goes down and acts like he’s dying. It’s like watching European soccer. Last night was a perfect example. He had about 4 guys on Oklahoma’s team ready to punch him. After his 3rd or 4th flop as they were running down court with him jabbering in a guy‘s ear, the guy gave him a forearm to the chest. He looked around and when he saw a ref looking he layed down and rolled around on the floor. Comical. They reviewed it and didn’t even call a foul on the guy because the contact was so small. The best part, he got called for a foul a few minutes later and kept running his mouth until the other guy came at him. He laughed and got a technical which fouled him out with about 12 minutes to go. He still stood up and never shut up the whole game. The referees really need to control all the taunting they do. I guess when you have a coach that stands and screams at officials from tipoff to final buzzer it rubs off on you. I just don’t know how anyone could get behind that kind of behavior.
Yes they are and I’m glad it’s not just me. Thanks for starting this thread.

No..........The answer is always Duke.
Florida for me. The elbow to Fulkerson’s face, Noah’s hand checking, and Golden’s boney-arms hissy fits is worse than any goofball crap that Pearl can produce. Remember Renaldo Woolridge’s music career? 😂

Duke is up there for sure, but behind Perdue since their two deepest tournament runs came at the expense of TN due to poor officiating.

Well the entire UF school is my 1/1A most hated school.......but purely basketball wise (outside of UF, Bama, Mu**ay St) Duke is #1 for me

Yet they lost to an unranked team
ESPN’s SportsCenter made sure to note that Clemson has a 4 game win streak against top 5 opponents while unranked. I hate watching the show, but when I saw the score this morning I had to tune in.

I hope we can agree that ESPN will search for any excuse to keep Duke relevant.

That’s what a school looks like when they have a good bball team yet their gym doesn’t seat 10K.
They knew when they built it that the arena is too far from any major city to fill more than 10k seats every night. It took a decade for them to be able to sell even that many consistently.
