Which school will Scroggins verbally commit to tomorrow?

That is what it sounds like to me too. Everyone, including myself, had Marlon Brown all but penciled in to our 2009 roster last year on NSD. Then he went to Georgia because of Granny.

Just a point about the whole Jacques Smith talking to Scroggins thing. Jacques obviously talks to Jesse through myspace, but I doubt that's where his confidence about him signing comes from. Jacques is most likely echoing the coaches confidence in the situation. I believe Sab himself posted a couple days ago that the coaches like where they are in the situation. The problem is that all reports say that the USC coaching staff likes where they are also.

Yeah but the reports are based on nothing. The only source of anything is the High School coach. Think of this what would Nuke's coach have said? LOL At the school I teach at our coach would believe his player is going to UGA no matter what. In the end, I think everyone is in the dark. Except the inner circle of Kiffin and Scroggins himself.

By no mean am I saying I think we get him just that this whole jumping to conclusions things seems premature.

None of these QB's will be in the top 15 in the 2011 class. Why is everyone so upset about not getting one?? UT has the #11 ranked from a couple yrs ago on campus and he does have some talent.

The coaches will have to earn their money even more but the sky will not fall if Scroggins doesn't choose UT.

It just really stinks that UT needs a QB capable of starting early in a year when the best available recruits are on the other side of the country.

thanks! i'm really getting nervous tho. i'm still trying to figure out what to make of Rettig (Redding) committing. maybe it means he knows we have JS, maybe it means nothing. i can't help but think tho, if we don't get JS, is this whole thing a failure? seems extreme, but if we don't have a field general, we have...nothing, including OL and WR

He goes to a Catholic prep school so that may play into it. BC and ND are Catholic. If I remember right USC is too or else started that way. In any event, he wasn't getting an offer to ND and would stand little chance of starting at USC.

I don't know what other factors may have pushed him over to BC from UT. Maybe he believes that UT will recruit over him next year and perhaps this year... a pretty good assumption IMO.

I liked him and maybe in retrospect the coaches will wish they dropped JS in favor of showing all their love to Rettig... Who knows?

I do know it is pretty unfair of those having an emotional collapse to second guess the coaches though. Hindsight is 20/20. They're playing their hand... they'll lose some and win some. Just tough that this year's QB deck is stacked against them.

i still say we offer his cuz....WHY NOT? i mean, i understand the principal, but....
"everyone i know has a big but" (pee-wee's big adventure) - sorry
but i keep checking his cuz's myspace too to see if JS is leaking anything to him in his comments. nothing. i sent a request to JS a while back, but still no acceptance....or rejection :)

Rettig lived in a major metropolitan area and Boston will not be a big change from that. Also, Rettig probably considered the academic ranking of BC and the fact that he may not be NFL material so a good education might be more beneficial than exposure at a traditional football school. I think the kid has a 3.8 GPA.

The fact that BC is a Jesuit school and Rettig is Catholic could also be a major factor.
