Recruiting Football Talk VIII

RB room is more than fine. It's elite. Bishop will go for 1,000 next year, Lewis or Seldon 600, Keith will grab a handful of red zone touchdowns + Baker coming in who I think is hugely underrated. I would love to see Morris but if not we likely are getting Hiter in '26 anyways. No need to hit the portal. Hold on to the receipts.
This is how elite teams operate. The upperclassmen get the snaps, underclassmen develop physically and mentally readying themselves for the future, garnering a few snaps per game. We are elite and don't require the freshmen to play every year.

SIAP, but anyone else other than me getting a bit concerned that Tennessee may get left out at 10-2? Things are trending towards a lot of teams bunched up at 10-2 this year, and I’m now seeing 11-1 Indiana being projected as over us in some rankings.

Feels like things are likely to work themselves out with some crazy upsets during the back half of the year. But right now it’s looking like quite a few teams will be at 10-2 at worst.

Nicos putting too much air on these throws. He’s got to drive it more.

The opposite is true, those throws need more air under them to let the receiver to run under them. That was Milton's problem on deep throws, needed more touch. Having a strong arm is more important when throwing the shorter to intermediate routes, zipping it into tight windows.

I think it will work itself out but give me 11-1 and call it a day. f*** Georgia.

Yup. Chaos will happen and a bunch of those teams will lose but I’m ready to be disappointed by the committee.

They circle back to the mystery recruit around the 16 min mark and AP wont reveal the name but he literally says it’s “a spot of need for this class”.
I think that based on the experience with Carnell Tate's "secret" visit becoming the talk of this forum and very public and then Ohio State pressuring Tate to cancel it, this time they are keeping a prudent silence.

Mighty presumptuous we’re going to be 10-2 instead of 11-1

While I don't trust the media or a committee, I've always thought 10-2 in any fashion would get us there.

Indiana will lose three more games.

I just can’t predict a Georgia win on the road till I see us look better prepared in true road games. Would be the biggest win of Heupel’s career if he can pull it off. We’ve certainly got the defense to do it this year.

People have a short term memory. I think if we play UGA close at minimum and finish with some blow out wins, everything will work out.

After Milton got hurt and Hooker came in it took a few games for Hooker to really click in the offense. I remember that he was good but then it gradually flowed into great. I can’t remember how many games it took though. I’m hoping for the same with Nico.

looking at our Roster for next year and who we hope to bring in with this recruiting class...

DL-- gonna really miss some of these guys, hopefully who we have left will continue to improve and maybe we pick up a stud in the portal.

OL-- gonna miss Spraggins and Cooper... Lampley and Davis have given their all for TN, they've done the best they could. Karic and Campbell have done well with the talent they have this season... All will be missed. May get some instant help/plenty of reps with Sanders... This is the most important position group that needs to develop the younger talent in the off season. We MUST do better at developing them.

DB/S/Secondary-- we good, maybe could add a Safety
RB's-- we good
WR's-- we good but could add another stud in the portal, maybe two.
LB's-- we good but should be looking to add at least one stud
QB's-- we good

If you strictly look at the current roster and the current depth/development of this team per position group, we need to hit the portal hard on OL, get one really good DL, and if we could land a smart/experienced LB with speed, along with one soph or better WR with legit speed, we'd be good to go!
