I doubt they come close to Amazon. Most of employees i have talked to seemed genuinely happy to work there. At the end of the day it's retail, and a gas station, not alot of career advancement. It's not going to be anyone's dream job. However the pay is deffinately above average for that type of job. Unlike Amazon, you don't have to walk 2 miles to get to your restroom on breaks. And heck there is affordable and good food too. I asked a guy if he liked working there, after I saw the pay sign, and he said "it was great if your not alergic to work." I can only say I have worked worse places for less. Considering it pays more then alot of cubicle hells I know and you don't have to have experience or a degree I think it's a pretty good opportunity for many new young workers, or semi retired people just trying to add a little. That's my take. Amazon is pure hell from everyone I have ever asked who worked there, and mistreatment story after story. I know 3 people who literally had nervous breakdowns working at the Amazon in Chattanooga.Lol
They are listed with Amazon as among the worst employers in America

Good I'd be heart broken if that place got messed up. If there is a true "rather be location" I'd rather be there drinking beer eating oysters and watching storks then just about anywhere most days.Talked to Danny this morning.
Up the creek is fine. Damage appears to be minimal….at least what he can see from the back deck there. lol.
It is truly a special place and they’ve done a great job keeping it that way

Like I said it's a retail gas station....not an employment destination....Still pays better and treats them better then walmart, and I doubt you'll have Amazon level break downs. If your looking at it as a college grad...nope it's not a great place to work. But for someone without a college degree, limited opportunities, limited work experience....seems like pretty good pay for what it is to me. I sure as hell worked for pennies and did worse at Lowe's and many of my summer jobs during college. Had Buc-ee's existed around here when I was teens to 20's I'd have jumped on it. Costco too for that matter. It's all relative to where you are at. But you couldn't make me work at Amazon. The stories i've heard that place, needs to be investigated by the state. For that matter one of my worst experiences is a certain insurance firm I will not name, paid well, good benefits, and absolute was soul draining slow death in a cubicle where sanity and health were both all but decimated. In retrospect I would have been better to work almost anywhere else where I could just move around. But you can't look at what they do and what their paid and not appreciate it's MUCH better pay then any similar job in other gas stations and retail. None of those places are getting high marks either but it's where many people have to work.Amazon & Buc-ee's Employees: Are You Thinking Long-Term? - Flex Tech, LLC
Starting Pay Isn’t Worth Lack of Growth & Advancement While Amazon and Buc-ee’s offer competitive $15-$20/hour starting pay, there is very little room for long-term growth opportunites. It’s no surprise these industries that offer higher starting pay have the highest turnover rates and lowest...flextechnow.com
There used to be a Kentucky Fried Texaco in Lookout Valley that had some of the best damn chicken and potatoe wedges on earth. Little ole grandma worked there everyday making fresh biscuits too. Sometimes you got to appreciate the dives.Back in the day the Store at exit 143 on I40, Linden/Waverly exit, had the best corn dogs.

There’s a food truck that comes out onto St George Island that does breakfast and then seafood to order that is just amazing. The best part is that the profit goes to support the local animal welfare community. Shelter and rescue. There was a food trailer parked in a gravel lot in Lavona, GA that hand-dipped 1/4 lb knackwurst corn dogs to order. They offered brown or yellow mustard. I went there every time I fished Lake Hartwell.
One day, I’ll get my wife to go there for a vacation. My preference would be late February/early March for an initial trip. We could visit my nephew’s family on the trip there/back.There’s a food truck that comes out onto St George Island that does breakfast and then seafood to order that is just amazing. I'm not butt hurt, I just like Buc-ees. I have my doubts about those numbers, but my only experience with Buc-ees is Severville, and Richmond Kentucky. Employees didn't appeared to be tortured or unhappy at those locations.... I didn't hand out a job satisfaction survey at either location. I'll try and do more research before buying beaver hats, brisket and jerky though..Look. This is a joke thread so I’m moving away from the political side of this. If you (not you personally) get butt hurt over a gas station thread then maybe the zone isn’t your kind of place.
