Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Hypothetically...cause I won't believe it until I see it.

What sort of numbers do you think would get James Pearce Jr. a Heisman?

I think he'd need 60 combined tackles, with 30+ being Solo, and pushing 20 TFLs with 14 or more sacks.

I think 20 sacks probably locks it up as that would tie the single season record and if he's that disruptive Vols are in the playoffs too.
I think his sack numbers are going to be lower because teams are going to scheme to make sure he doesn't beat them. It will cost them as other guys will make them pay, but they have to try something .

He has said forever, back when he coached high school, he doesn’t want to coach professional football. We will see if those sentiments stay true.

Deion isnt the only highly recognizable college coach that cares about himself, he’s just outlandish with it. I think its more common than people realize. Freeze is one and there was a lot of people on here that was hoping we got him during our fulmer ad days.
I agree about Freeze. Do not want him anywhere near my program.

Cam said he's ready and amped up. I'm definitely ready
I hope even when Cam moves on to NFL, and he will., I hope your whole family stays with us. Too many times we’ve seen family members of a player that really shouldn’t be on here. We can be a bit handful at times, but you’ve handled yourself exceptionally well. You’re part of our family now.

Well yeah...most predictions are to hope for a bowl game in Y2. Nobody is putting them in the playoffs preseason lol

Their season win total O/U is 5.5. Moderate 1 or 2 game improvement.
I know, but that isn't what Deion is selling, to his players or anyone else.

Those bags are Gucci remember? Those players aren't good enough..........turns out they were always Kate Spade.

It's what he did and the way he did it. Then when he gets the criticism the first thing he did was play the race card......... Then it was attacking the press for doing their jobs and signaling to him they won't just follow and repeat the Deion narrative. The dudes just toxic as a head coach on multiple levels.

As a player you have to have that edge, he maximized ego and made it work for him, he was one of the greatest to ever do it. Now that ego that was such a great tool doesn't translate so well to coaching. You have to be able to humble yourself, put the best for the program before what's best for you. And most of all be willing to listen when someone checks you on something and set ego aside.

Deion has set himself up to be the villain through his actions setting up the program and then how he deals with the media and criticism. And that's fine, but you have to own up to and communicate the why and it's relation to the overall vision. Deion isn't able to do that, he isn't able to let the other guy get his little win to fight the bigger battles. He just keeps digging and everyone else is wrong. That's why I don't respect him as a coach.
